If I remember correctly, OSU did not honor any of their verbal commitments to high school seniors that year, which was unheard of at the time, of course the counter would be that the times were unprecedented. So I would not read into that to much. I would not think she would be a glutton for punishment,...

I'm sure someone will pick her up based on the success of other transfers out of Penn State....

It's not easy being on crutches that is for sure. She must have a great work ethic to stay on a campus that big after getting hurt....

Everyone knows they transferred, the others are lesser known. I don't think many people knew Weiss led Providence in scoring. I didn't even know that until last night....Last edited by Reddington; 03-19-2024, 06:58 PM.

Former Penn State Players:
M Uihlien did not use her extra year of eligibility and did not resurface anywhere else.
Mikayla Lanto finished with 31 pts for LIU and was second on the team in scoring.
Rachel Weiss led Providence in scoring with 19 pts

It was fun to watch Gough when she went on a goal scoring streak for sure. All the seniors and fifth years can be proud of the year. It's tough to advance. These teams have been right on the cusp...

Yes, the whole Desa experience seems to be a replay of Chantal Burke coming from deep off the bench to have a great year when Brenneman got hurt. And I think the coach was just as surprised then as he is now on how well Desa has played. And don't forget in each instance, Kampersal had them as the third...

Desa was tremendous! There is nothing to criticize, the game just did not go PSU's way....

Third Period was definitely Penn State's. Ref's had to goto the monitor to see if Retrum scored and they ruled no. That shot was right off the cross bar. Kampersal is smartly playing a deeper bench this game....

PSU needs to stay out of the box for sure. Almost on Machado to Christian. Other than that PSU was outplayed that period.

[QUOTE=ZedLeppelin;n3867620]After one in Madison, it's 0-0, with shots on goal 8-7 for Penn State. No penalties in the period. This one looks pretty even, but I like Penn State's aggression.
The camera view is from far away. The announcers are okay.. PSU had two opportunities: one off a...

Good find. It is smart of Penn State to market Janecke. There must be a couple of fifth years that want to play with a future Olympian....

PSU had Quinnipiac 2-1 with six left last year. If PSU had held onto that lead and won, would those two players have left? Who knows. I'm going to disagree with the tournament being the end all as far as attendance and recruiting . 20 win seasons put fannies in the seats and shows the program in a...

This is the fourth time PSU and SLU have faced off during the last three years. This time no Morgan or Bothun. Add two former Syracuse players to the mix: Batherson and Marchand. This should add a little extra spice to the game....

Chris Mackenzie, Niagara Falls Ontario native, head coach, finally gets UConn over Northeastern. Two previous tries, the third time is the charm....

A new coach favors new players, it is really not hard to figure out. And if that new reality is not in line with the actual talent, it causes hard feelings in the locker room. That's why you often see a mass exodus on teams when a new coach shows up. It's just not hockey specific either. As far as...

Mercyhurst and Penn State is a great rivalry. Mercyhurst is always formidable.

Janecke has been working on being a playmaker all year. Pederson had to have been a big loss. I still think Sisti is a very good coach. And let me tell you after watching what has happened at Syracuse after Flanagan retired, I would not be in a hurry to see what's behind door b....

I'm not sure I would throw Kromer under the bus, the weak side d should have been rotating back. As far as Sisti, I'm sure he was playing matchup and he probably had his weakest defensive pair against the supposed third line. Vaslet is no third line player even though that is what she is asked to play...

The Tournament MVP was Desa. The goalie coach has paid dividends.
All tournament for Penn State were: Vaslet, Machado and Lobdell. Lobdell with four blocks and Machado with her relentless forecheck.
