Depends how well they promote it locally. The reality of today its harder than ever to get an individual consumer's attention. Very hard to draw in casual fans of anything as everything is so segmented, almost everyone can access their passions from their phones, or use their phones to connect with...

I DM'ed Ed T on LinkedIn yesterday evening after noticing that the forum was still down from when I first checked in the morning and he got it back up shortly after. Ed is a good guy with a lot going on outside the site/forum and was likely busy through the day......

Do you think St. Olaf will bid or would they not be interested because they're not contenders? Which Twin Cities rinks do you think make more sense? I'm not challenging just wondering as I don't know the landscape......

I think they do one predetermined East and one Predetermined West...If I had to guess it would be GAC getting the West and either Utica 2026 for a joint championship or Plattsburgh in 2027 if its solo.
I don't think the committee would choose Norwich over Plattsburgh in a one vs one for...Last edited by Scott_TG; 03-20-2024, 08:13 AM.

I don't think the second predetermined year is 100% final so Utica could be in play.
The notes from the August 2023 DIII Championships Committee meeting where this pilot was approved included the following
I may have missed it but I cannot find where the DIII...Last edited by Scott_TG; 03-18-2024, 10:08 PM.

This is all my conjecture from observation, no inside knowledge...
If they ever get an agreement (and it would involve figuring out a way to plan it so the women don't feel like an opening act) to doing a joint DIII Ice Hockey Championship Weekend with both championships I think Lake Placid...Last edited by Scott_TG; 03-18-2024, 08:42 PM.

I was pretty close to reality in how I thought this tournament would go...4-1 Final for River Falls.
Congrats to River Falls on running the table and winning the 2024 DIII WIH Championship, breaking the single-season wins record in the process.
First time since 2012 that we've...

Seems like a tall order for Elmira given how they're playing and now the 5 min major they earned...

The document from the DIII Championships Committee isn't very explosive, just lists who was on the call and heard the appeal. They don't go into the meat of the issue

The DIII Championships Committee is supposed to take up the issue again on their last call before they meet with the Finance Committee, hopefully the noise spurs them to take action rather than continuing to table it.
I don't know anyone among my fellow Cardinal defending the rules as it...

Great deception play by the Falcons to open up the post and score the game-winner late in the third.
I'm kind of reminded of the 2014 tournament, where the season-long favorite had a really close semi (OT for that one). We'll see on Sunday if the Falcons can complete the second half of...

I still think its River Falls all the way but the implosion on this board if Elmira does the unthinkable will be a thing to behold...

The only semifinalist I got wrong was Elmira instead of my pick of Amherst and my original final was in tact so I'm going to stick to it.
I think RF and Midd win today and a 4-1 win by RF in the final on Sunday
