Not a whole lot of surprises, I thought. Of course, there are always some deserving athletes who aren't rewarded. What do people think? I'm interested to see if those that are in the Final Four show that they deserve the honor!

Can't wait for the games to begin!

Should be a good matchup at 3:30 with the 1st and 2nd team east AA goalies going head to head!
In my opinion Ashley Salerno is the best D I saw in the 40 or so games I attended this season.
Had a dream, but it was black and gold this time; it would mean Norwich is the first women's DIII champ not to repeat and the west wins one...
Time to get on the road to Ritter.
GOOD LUCK to the players, coaches and parents!

I would agree not really a whole lot of surprises. Tough to say how good the top three goalies in the east are when (binnington,Chamberlan and Justice) when they are just facing an average of 14 shots per game although that is sometimes harder than being peppered. You really have to be mentally tough to stay focused when you have very little action. A lot of very good hockey players in the 24 players who made the teams. Also waiting for the games this weekend. Would be nice to see a team from the west at least advance to the finals and then hopefully win it all. Go Gusties.

For the life of me I'll never understand how a Division I player was allowed to be named a Division III All-American for the last three seasons.

If all of these players made up 1 team, do you think that they could beat the best of division 1 teams?

I dont know why you question this. If they were DI players, they'd be playing DI. Because they transferred to a DIII program doesnt mean they should be penalized...I dont get it. Explain why you're miffed?

What I find hard to believe is that All-Americans are based solely on how many points you obtain in conference play. Cuz that makes sense.

Some schools are supposed to be division 1 but have their womens hockey in d3. For example in womens bball, volleyball, lacrosse compete in the d1 patriot league. mens hockey is also d1 atlantic. Whats the history?

No transfer. I'm talking about a player that plays for a Division I classified team yet is somehow eligible to be a D3 All-American.

Well, they aren't a D1 team other than by classification. They don't play a single D1 school. However, the flip of that is the NCAA's habit of listing Holy Cross players in the D1 stats.

Not sure, I think most top D3 teams can compete with the bottom of D1, but I don't know how the top players on the top teams would fair against strong D1.
