I apologize, MBB has only won 3 B1G regular season titles & 2 B1G tournament titles in the past 10 years. I honestly thought it had been more. Although they have made 14 straight NCAA tourney's (4th longest streak in the nation, and 8th longest in NCAA history). Add in back to back B1G football titles and I'm not sure my statement about the current state about the two major revenue producing sports at UW was so inaccurate. But I digress...

      Some important stuff:

Lauren Price, the director of communications for Intersport noted in an e-mail this afternoon, "Hockey City Classic tickets are ranging from $15-$85 and the ticket is good for both games."

Price also added that more than 60% of the 60,000 seats will be priced at $40 or less.

We've also learned the game times for the double-header. The first game will pit Miami vs Notre Dame starting at noon on February 17th. Wisconsin and Minnesota will take the ice shortly after, with an expected start time of 3:30
That's good to know. Do we know where the "designated" Wisconsin sections are (where the old people getting ripped off will sit and where the Crease Creatures will be able to sit)?
If you want to be a BADGER, just come along with me

      BRING BACK PAT RICHTER!!!

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."

Canned music is a pathetic waste of your time.

Not at this time, no. Here is the seat map which should help a little.

Sorry, the expanded knowledge of pricing does little to change my opinoin of this...grossly overpriced. The 60% of tickets under $40 are absolutely attricious seats for a hockey game. Hell the $60 seats will be pretty bad as far as actually getting to watch a hockey game.

Looking at the seating chart, it appears that they actually put some thought into pricing. I think that the $40 seats in the 300 west section might be the best value when it comes to actually watching the games. My one piece of advice from all of the hockey games in football stadium events I have attended is that elevation is your friend. Anything in the bottom half of the 100 levels is going to be a much worse view than any of the $15 tickets

Cautiously optimistic is the way I'm viewing things heading into the season. I feel like my expectations for this years club are probably higher than most that follow UW. UW has had many peaks and valley's over Eaves tenure, and this should be the upswing of one of those peaks. They didn't lose a forward with more than two points last year, so everyone on the roster up front is a year older. They also added two impact freshman forwards that are both expected to play from the get-go.

Replacing Schultz is the biggest question mark the team has right now. They should be fine defensively, but what Schultz brings from the point offensively and on the PP is not going to be replaced. I'm expecting Derek Lee to take over his duties on the PP, so we'll see how that goes.

In the end the most important player on the roster is Joel Rumpel. He really came into his own down the stretch last season, and that's when the Badgers played their best hockey. If he can duplicate his second half success, there is no reason (imo) that they can't be a top 3 WCHA team with an opportunity to do damage in the NCAA tourney.

                Tickets for 4 - $340.00 + any fees.

                4 Overpriced Hot Chocolates - $10.00

Gas for the CTS - At least $100.00

Lunch, Dinner, Jack Link's Beef Jerky, hundreds of dollars.

Sorry? I hope you're just trying to mess with me, but I'll look into it.

Update: McCabe--"Nope I'll be out there Oct 6th. Wishing it was next week not a whole month away."

Appreciate that little waste of time though.

Rammer is C again, Sean Little is full time A, Lee is an A @ home and Frankie is an A on the road. The history of 2 time solo C's delivering mega success is pretty high: Rhino, Raygor, Rohlik, Burish, Eaves. I like UW's chances based on this alone.

I hear you are almost guaranteed to win when you play craps at a Casino that starts with a "B" on a day that starts with a "T" when there is a full moon out too.

Ryan Little is the full time alternate.

Well Tim, here's my correspondence with a nice lady from the UW. Read from the bottom of course.

For a game on the first day of practice for a non-collegiate opponent? That's not very fair to the consumer, I'd categorize it as a bit of a rip-off. I know you are just the messenger, feel free to forward this up the chain of command. Have a great weekend and thanks for your prompt responses.

Thank you for your interest in the Wisconsin Men’s Hockey team. Unfortunately, there isn’t going to be a Red/White scrimmage this year since we have scheduled exhibition game versus USA U18 Team on October 6th (which is our first day of practice). All practices are open to the public and you can come to watch at any time.

Skate with the Badgers would be a great opportunity to meet the team and get autographs.

Let me know if you have any more questions,

Will there be a free men's hockey scrimmage this year like there has been periodically in the past? That's always a neat event to see the players up close for the first time and then run around the Kohl Center and get autographs.
