Here's hoping we don't see a repeat of last year's miscarriage of a season being flushed down the toilet.

We brave the cold for tailgates, our friends know not to ask about the game after a tough loss, we laugh, we cry, we BLEED hockey, specifically the maroon'n'gold. Many of us have a tattoo waiting in the wings, WHEN (not IF) the Gophers are champions again.

Originally posted by Tipsy McStagger View PostAfter the series against Wisconsin, I don't know what will motivate the Gophers. A series at home, against their rivals, for the MacNaughton, couldn't motivate them to start playing until the last 15 minutes of the Saturday game. The Gophs just seem intent on coasting. Maybe at some point Lucia points out it is the playoffs and now is the time to play all 60 minutes.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX
The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

The thing that will carry the Golden Gophers is the crowd from last night. Nate Schmidt said that after the first goal the crowd was the loudest he has ever heard, and it gave him goosebumps. :>)

I imagine from a Gopher coach & player perspective this is the matchup they wanted.....regardless of where either team finished this season.
