Good luck to both teams, should be a great series.

Will there be any tv coverage or streams of the series?

Interesting. Your two biggest "rivals" could be your obstacles on your way to AC.

Discuss... I hope you guys don't play like you did in the game at HFH. RPI outplayed Clarkson for about 50 minutes of that game and somehow we escaped with a win. Should be a good series. The Engineers seem to be peaking and Clarkson is, well, who knows.

Amazing weekend followed by the worst possible road trip for us. Anyway, I pose a question to all those with knowledge of the area: What is there to do in Potsdam? The band will be making the drive up and we will have to spend one (or two) days in the area. Anything particularly exciting or will we be spending a lot of time in the hotel.

There's a mall in Massena. It's the only thing within about 50 miles worth visiting, and I use "worth visiting" loosely.

For the gamblers, there's Akwesasne Mohawk Casino over in Hogansburg (incidentally, they sponsor JL's junior team, the Cornwall Colts). For those electrically inclined, you might be able to get some peeks at the power plant. SLC used to have an ITG machine, but they moved it to Syracuse, and then subsequently was moved somewhere else (no idea where). Other than that, uhhh...

Well, uh, not much. The Massena mall has about 5 stores and an ice rink with skate rentals. The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is about 45 minutes away. And Potsdam has a movie theater and a bowling alley. Other than that...nothing.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like we'll probably head to the mall for at least part of the day.

I'd be interested in this, as well. Nevertheless, it should be a rock 'em, sock 'em series. RPI is playing well again and Clarkson is always tough at Cheel.

St. Lawrence Centre has THAT few stores? Granted I only stayed around the food court area because that's where the arcade is (was playing ITG, it was either there or Burlington VT for DDR Supernova in the summers), but I'm not shocked. Of course, it also wasn't shocking that half of the license plates were Ontario, and the other half was Quebec.

There's always that big country called Canada to go to.

I believe Ottawa is 90 minutes away, Montréal isn't too far, either (maybe about the same).

Haha, no, not quite. I was exaggerating, but there are probably about 20 stores, and it seems like a different store announces it's leaving the mall every week. I'm fairly sure (but not entirely) that the arcade is gone, which is a shame.

The games will be streamed on the internet. Each game costs $7. Information can be found here:

Ottawa is around 90 minutes away, and Montreal is about 2 hours away.

That's too bad that stuff is gone; I know Great Northern down here has been experiencing the same issues (although Sears is still around, since it's the largest one in the area). I guess that's what happens when consolidation becomes mainstream.

Yes, the arcade is gone. There is a mall chinese place, arby's, a gyro place, Wendy's, Sbarro inside the mall for food. Taco Bell is on the mall property, but not connected to the mall itself. There is a Sear's, JC Penny, Bon Ton for 'big name' stores, an FYE, radio shack, and a handful of other stores I can't remember off the top of my head since I don't venture to the mall very often anyways.

Depending on where you guys end up staying, I might be able to suggest places to eat or other things to do, but there isn't a whole lot in the 'things to do' category anyways.

Having lived in Potsdam for 4 years, I can tell you there are a plethora of things to do there in the winter. You can ... drink beer at Duffs, drink beer at Backstreets, drink beer at the Cantina, drink beer at Eben's, or drink beer at Maxfields. If you're really feeling froggy, you can head to the outskirts of the village and drink beer at Tons.

You have our deepest sympathy:) I actually loved the North country trip to Potsdam and Canton. There was a bunch of bars to sit and get smashed in. Best of all it is not too far from our home in the Adirondacks. I must say though, in spite of what others may say, we were always treated well there as visitors by the fans we met. Unlike a lot of other venues-Clarkson fans know their hockey and most who come to the games are regulars who understand the history of the rivalry.

Ottawa is fantastic-but best in mid winter. If you have never skated the canal you are missing a wonderful experience. Montreal is a bit further for us-incredible to visit but you need the time to get around and of course French helps a bit(which neither Jen or I speak). But i don't think I have ever found better restaurants anywhere than in Montreal. It used to be a snap crossing the border but i am not so sure it is as easy now and might be far more time consuming.
