I do a football pick 'em style game with some friends of mine and I thought maybe I would introduce it to these boards to see if there would be any interest. I know we don't do enough of these pick 'em games already!
Let me first explain my idea and then I'll get a guage of interest.
The National DIII Pick 'Em Challenge
Each week, I will select five interesting/rival/closely matched/whatever I feel like...games. You're job would be to pick the winner of these games and then rank your confidence in these picks from 1-5, with 5 being the most confident and then 1 being the least confident. With each correct pick, you earn the points that you assigned to that game. In the case of a tie, no points would be awarded. For an example, let's use last weeks games and some imaginary picks...
5 Points: Middlebury @ Tufts (Saturday, December 3rd)
4 Points: Fredonia @ Elmira (Saturday, December 3rd)
3 Points: Fredonia @ Buffalo State (Friday, December 2nd)
2 Points: Castleton @ Norwich (Friday, December 2nd)
1 Point: Wisconsin-Eau Claire @ Wisconsin-Stevens Point (Saturday, December 3rd)
Had these been my picks for last week, I would have received 11 points for correctly picking Middlebury, Elmira, and Norwich. I would not have received points for Buffalot State as they tied Fredonia and I would not have received points for Eau Claire as they lost to Stevens Point.
So with that being said, if you are interested, let's try and kick this thing off with five games for this coming weekend. If we get enough interest, I will continue this. If not, I will let this disappear into the depths of the many other dead threads....
St. Thomas @ Hamline (Friday, December 9th)
Plattsburgh @ Norwich (Friday, December 9th)
Wisconsin-River Falls @ Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Saturday, December 10th)
Geneseo @ Elmira (Saturday, December 10th)
Middlebury @ Amherst (Saturday, December 10th)
