Next weekend! Who is coming? Did you hear that Chevy is giving away 2 all new Chevy Sonics, one during each game as well?

Big difference between giving away a car and having to put the puck in a barely-bigger-than-the-puck sized hole in order to win a car.

Does this tend to sell out? Should I buy tickets online now, or will I be okay buying them when I get there?

I am a little prejudiced on this subject but if you've seen a Sonic up close it very well might fit into that puck sized hole as well. Joking aside it's welcome to have any sponsors jumping on board.

Both Tim U and I will be there for both games. (Cheering for SLU of course!!!)

It would be a Festivus miracle.

It isn't actually a tournament because it is a one-day event without a champion being declared.

Well, in that case I hereby declare St. Lawrence University champion.

Don't they have to win first?

We could name champions by using the first round of Capital District vs. North Country games as tiebreakers. In which case RPI has already been eliminated.

In keeping with the Festivus spirit, I would suggest the champion be the school that has the best airing of grievances - in which case, RPI wins going away ;)

I will assume this to confirm your participation in "The Feats of Strength"... unless of course we see some form of brawl on the ice... ;)

The games are not over until the head of the household is wrestled to the floor and pinned.

Does that mean Steve Hagwell will be in the house?

You might find the building supervisor somewhere... ;)

This was... humorous? Or supposed to be? What does the building supervisor have to do with anything?

Wouldn't he/she technically be the "head of household", the household being the building where the event is taking place?

Add "very poor attempt" to your first questions, and you've got it right.

You're both too young to be retired...so shouldn't you both get back to work :D

Clarkson-St Lawrence might have to save this doubleheader. The Union-RPI game has lost a lot of intrigue with RPI's unexpectedly bad season and up to a handful of key players possible out for Union, who had a 0-win weekend against inferior opponents last weekend. Even banged up, Union should still beat RPI, but hopefully it's a better game than the one in Troy last month. Union had that wrapped up by the middle of the second period and the rest of the game bordered on boring. I'm glad Union won, but the second half of the game was kind of a snooze fest. Compared to most other recent Union-RPI clashes, that one was kind of a bust in terms of drama and excitement. I don't have much of a read on Clarkson/St Lawrence - how do people see that one going?

Since people can watch these games online for free, I'm thinking it's going to be pretty empty up there. Maybe 2000-2500. The place holds like 7500 or so. I think Clarkson is the closest distance wise and that's still at least 70 miles one way. I'm not sure what incentive people will have to drive that distance when they can sit home and watch for nothing. I had ordered a couple tickets way back in late August.
