For those of you who have been voting previously, here is the thread to post your "ballot" of top-10 teams. If you have never posted before, but would like to, here is where you post your top-10. If you would like your ballot to be counted, make sure to have your top-10 posted in this thread by Monday (Oct 17) by 1pm Eastern.
Here is my top 10...
1. Boston College - Despite a close loss to Denver at home, the Eagles are playing very good hockey. A dominating performance over New Hampshire on Saturday proved that. Also, someone has to be #1 right?
2. Denver - A tough start to the second period was all it took for Denver to split on the weekend. The Pioneers showed determination and grit in fighting back on Saturday night, after narrowly beating BC at BC.
3. Colorado College - The Tigers took care of business this weekend, but go on the road for their next five games.
4. Michigan - The Wolverines are off to a great start, but their schedule has been fairly weak. A trip to Northern Michigan next weekend will give us some insight as to just how good Michigan is this year.
5. Minnesota - All is well in Gopher land after a sweep at Duluth. Minnesota looks like the Gophers of old tallying ten goals against the Bulldogs. Back to back weekends @ Alaska-Anchorage and then home against North Dakota should give us an even better test of just how good Minnesota is.
6. Boston University - An unimpressive showing on Friday in the loss to Providence, followed by the victory over Denver shows that the Terriers are a bit inconsistent. Of course, at this point in the year, that can be said for pretty much every team in the country.
7. Notre Dame - The Irish closed out the Joyce Center on a losing note. This weekend should have seen four points for Notre Dame, instead it showed that the Irish have work to do. The talent is there though.
8. Yale - Didn't play, so they remain #8 (on my ballot).
9. Union
9. Western Michigan - I decided to lump these two together after their sister-kissing affair this weekend. Two draws didn't tell us much about who is better, so it is fair to say that they are equal. It will be interesting to see what these squads do in the upcoming weeks against different competition.
Honorable Mention:
Northern Michigan
Michigan Tech
Alaska-Anchorage
North Dakota
As always, comments are appreciated and please post your top-10s.
