Yeah Horseshoe is the only one with a poker room. I prefer the slot machines at Ameristar but for table games Horseshoe is the place to go. There are 3 casino's in Council Bluffs just across the river from Omaha and less than 5 minutes away from the Arena the Mavs play in.

I play poker a lot, well I used to until I got stuck working two jobs where I have NO free time, so in February my eyes lit up when i saw the casinos when we rolled into Council Bluffs, but I figured "Its a hockey weekend, I'll never actually have time to go play, too much time spent drinking." Well this year half of us are getting in Friday evening and the other half aren't getting in until LATE Friday, early Saturday, and the one who'll be in town with me plays poker too, so I'm excited for that, from what I've heard its an awesome card room.

Can't wait for Thanksgiving weekend, and it has nothing to do with turkey this year.

It is a very nice card room. That Friday is my birthday so we might run into each other at the casino I always seem to do good there on my b-day.

I am NOT a fan of this "pep band". They are off key, they were scattered...they played the Imperial March for a Colgate PP? You want to see a hockey band, see here, none of this "pep band" business:


That SOUNDS good. Yes, yes, smaller arena, etc. I get it. I am just throwing my two cents out there.

That being said, I am also bias, because I like the environment it was lat year, more of an NHL arena. I know it's college hockey, but with the music, it sounded great. I am for a band if they can pull it off a little better.

Also, can we get some wins against Alaska this weekend? Looking for a sweep, baby! Go Mavs! Start of WCHA play right!

What a great win tonite for the Mavs! They really took it to the Badgers the last period and a half and the power play was phenomenal. So proud of the boys to come back from the adversity they faced in a hostile environment. This team could be scary good this year.

Well they dug themselves a big hole again but couldnt rally. Have to tighten up the early game defense. I'll take a split on the road anyday. Big big series coming up with CC. Time to defend home ice. GO MAVS!
