The WCHA Commish was coming north to Fairbanks this month. Does anyone one know if it is this week or if he is in town now?

He's scheduled to visit Tuesday.

The Polar Bear better get the checkbook out....

They could just volunteer to use their fighter jets to take out the teams that bailed on the WCHA.

Wait ... Whut? Only the BHHC teams have bank accounts.

We should have been more specific, the leftovers are bankrupt in the talent department. :)

I'm pretty sure Bruce Cech's always in Fairbanks at this time of year. :D

I hope Forrest wears his finest pair of Carhartts tomorrow.

Make sure to take him to the Silver Gulch and don't tell him it's a $17 cab ride from the host Hotel (Alpine Lodge) to downtown Fairbanks.

I hope we at least had the decency to put him up in the Westmark.

I hope he draws a good impression. UAF runs a first class program, has outstanding coach and a very hockey friendly AD. The only negative at all is the possibility of getting to Anchorage and having a 3 or 4 hour layover for the connecting flight to Fairbanks. Other than the travel, the Fairbanks experience is a very positive one. Maybe you can have MOIT meet him at the airport and take him out for a jet fueled bonfire!

getting to Anchorage and having a 3 or 4 hour layover for the connecting flight to Fairbanks.!

Unless you can catch the Twin Cities-ANC nonstop, it's vastly easier to connect to one of the Seattle-Fairbanks nonstops.

Better than the Klondike Inn!

Flights through Seattle are definitely better connections, and usually you do get MSP to ANC non-stop. It's just a matter of what UAF books for you.

He's coming today---well, at least he's breathing hard.

News-Miner writeup here:

There is also a reprint in the Anchorage Daily News that mentions McLeod will stop in Anchorage to meet with UAA and Cobb, and that Bemidji's coach joined him on the trip.

All in all it sounds like it all went well.
