Haha, Heisenberg breaks the news...its Riley Sweeney from Surrey. Nice job by me if I do say so myself, because he was not on Heisenberg's list before today. When I added him, I was wondering if he was even eligible for NCAAs since Heisenberg didn't have him listed.

Is he the converted third string goalie?

Have you been following Riley Sweeney? His stats seem comparable to Sam's...Riley is younger and taller...I think Mel did alright on this one.

Help my math out here. Are we talking about a total of 3 recruits?

He probably did we will see how he develops. More importantly how many of them are on the ice now practicing on their own?

I am less familiar with him but will note that 7 of his 10 goals came on the power play. And while that isn't necessarily indicative of any shortcomings it doesn't mean he's offensively gifted as even strength scoring tends to do ... it does speak more about that team's utilization of him and his ability to fill a role like that so those are good signs (along with his age). All in all he's a solid replacement for Sam especially at this point in the game.

Apparently Tyler Heinonen "verbally" committed for 2013 or 14.

looks from this that mr Heinonen is pretty good. I/m impressed with both of these and especially with shirtless.

No. Tyler played for Delano HS in Minnesota. Last season, he amassed 44 goals and 39 assists in 25 regular season games. He added 2 more goals and 3 more assists in 2 playoff games, including 3 points against eventual champion Breck. In 2009-10 he had 44 goals and 25 assists in 25 regular season games as well as 2 more assists in 2 playoff games. This season he'll most likely be playing for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL.

The third post down had him pegged as Tech recruit back in Feb 2010.

Heinonen has some game but he needs some development to become a solid WCHA player. He's a good recruit with sky high potential, hopefully he becomes the player he could be. It will be good for him to play USHL where the level of competition is higher. In HS he played too many teams that he could coast against and still score 2 goals. He also needs to become a more level headed player, I believe it was against Breck (or Blake) in sections where his team was down 1 with a couple minutes left and he took a bad penalty. He was the best player on that team, he cannot take himself off the ice like that.

                                Good article Shirtless.

And thanks Flashy for keeping a good Tech hockey website and twitter account going!

Is Justin Fillion in a similar situation as Tyler Gubb was last year?

After reading the article and looking at the Roster I would expect to see Cecere on there and not Fillion until December. Just mistakes by whoever updates the website?
