The team is on its way to Houghton. They have already reached O'Hare in Chicago and now must head to Houghton.

Isn't it 2 or 3 flights and a bus ride to get to Houghton?

Looks like they were able to fly to Chicago and change planes for Houghton. They landed in Michigan about 2 plus hours ago.

Don't forget the dog sled. I agree with Dmann, I'm getting a little weary of their b*tching, too. DU, CC and UND were charter members of the WCHA. And while I understand the future of their program is problematic, it was the pullout of the Big 10 teams that precipitated this. So if Tech fans want to blame somebody, blame Minnesota and Wisconsin. DU, CC, and UND did what they had to do to avoid being shunted off the main stage. Nobody set out to hurt Tech. I've posted repeatedly how badly I feel for their decline and how I hope they can turn it around. This new reality doesn't change that. But DU had to take care of itself. Otherwise we might be talking about DU hockey the same way we talk about DU football, in the past tense.

Chambers with some notes on the MTU series (http://blogs.denverpost.com/colleges/2011/10/27/du-notes-heading-into-series-at-michigan-tech/21736/).

We are running a feature on DU freshman defenseman Josiah Didier of Littleton in Friday’s paper. Didier, 18, is one of three blue-chip newcomers being introduced to an otherwise veteran blue line. Didier and classmates Scott Mayfield and Joey LaLeggia need playing time, but the Pioneers don’t want to scratch seniors John Ryder and John Lee, junior Paul Phillips or sophomore David Makowski.

So they’ve gone with a seven-D, 11-forward lineup for the first four games, and DU coach George Gwozdecky said that could again be the case in Friday’s series opener at Michigan Tech. Available fourth-line forwards on the trip are freshmen Ty Loney, Daniel Doremus and Matt Tabrum and senior Nate Dewhurst. Junior forward Chris Knowlton remains on a team-imposed suspension this weekend, but Gwozdecky said he could be available for next week’s series against Minnesota-Duluth at Magness Arena.

As much as I like and respect Tech...their fans are barking up the wrong tree when it comes to Denver. I agree with you Old Pio...they should be yelling at the Leaders and Legends! Not Denver, CC and UND! Denver has respresented the WCHA in a class manner throughout the years.

If you have any questions about DU or specific players, ask DU SID Erich Bacher tonight on the Live Game Blog. I spoke to him last weekend and he wants more traffic, questions and comments like last season. So fire away after 5 PM MT tonight...

Looking forward to hearing what George has to say. Three empty netters in less than a minute. Has to be one for the record book. Phillips gets his first goal. Tomorrow is the night we get a good look at what the heart of this team looks like.

I think the point Gwoz may have been making is they evidently left the heart of the team back in Denver. And we better get it FedEx'd up to Houghton in time.

Lack of preparation and he takes the blame.
