I was afraid of that and mentioned it the second Gadowsky went all Nittany Lions on us!:mad: If true, he is ready and you couldn't ask for a better guy. He loves to win! Let's just hope we get a few more SLU alums as head coaches in the ECAC, then in the playoffs they can all choke and let SLU win every year because once a Saint, you are always a Saint!!!;):)

Does anyone know much about Prier? What kind of guy is he? Style of play?

Absolutely great guy, he's been instrumental in getting some great recruits to SLU as well. My guess, without him having head coaching experience, would be he will bring a style of play similar to SLU's... that is, wide open, high tempo. We're certainly going to miss him a lot at SLU, but we all wish him nothing but the best in NJ... except for 2 games a year ;)

And if you ever get the chance to shake hands with him, I hope your bones aren't brittle, because they'll get crushed. Probably the firmest handshakes I've ever experienced were with Bobby Prier.

Sounds like a very good hire for Tigers. Gadowsky recruited a small, fast team. Womder if they fit with new coach's style. If not, it will be a long rebuilding process.

Put it this way: he's got a lot of experience recruiting and coaching just that type of player and team. Who knows what he'll do over the long term, but if you want somebody who knows how to work with small, fast players, then you want one of the St. Lawrence coaches. Guys like Casey Parenteau, Travis Vermuelen, Kyle Essery, and Shawn Fensel have been some of the most valuable players for SLU in recent years.

Well, I am sad to see BP leave SLU but glad he got an opportunity at a class institution like Princeton. I know he likes Princeton a lot. I remember talking to him last year mid-season and he said point blank he though Princeton was the best team in the ECAC after Yale. He likes the talent they have and will work with it.

BP as a player and a coach likes guys that work hard. He himself works like a Trojan. He was known as Sarge for quite a while and always led by example as a player, a captain or a coach. I was there for his first games at SLU back at Miami in 2002 and he was leading the guys not dressing on a Saturday morning run. He is a classy guy. After he got injured in 99-00 and was back visiting SLU he met me and deflected all credit for the good things going on at SLU on everyone but him. But, in fact, it was almost all him. He is the captain in 1999 that set the mindset and lead that team from total suck to ECAC runner-ups as a Senior and two time ECAC champions in 2000 and 2001. I know Joe will be sad to see him leave. He was part of the family and always will be. Having worked with Denver, Princeton and then SLU as a coach, he has worked with and learned from some of the best. He knows how to recruit. He likes to win. He is a smart guy and will stress education. Yeah, I'd say he is a good hire.;) I just hope we can get someone good to replace him behind the bench at SLU, and I sure hope he will apply when Joe decides to retire.

I wish BP every success in 27 of the RS games Princeton plays every year. Frankly, I would imagine it will be tough for a guy like him to coach against Joe. I'd be surprised if Princeton doesn't stay in a good place hockey wise with him at the helm.

Sounds like a perfect fit for Princeton. He can grow with this very young team. They should be really good in 2 years

Is Hyman still coming? If not, has he declared elsewhere?

Is Hyman still coming? If not, has he declared elsewhere?

According to this story (http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/juniorhockey/article/987340--feschuk-promising-prospect-has-options-inside-and-outside-hockey#article), he's keeping his options open

And while Princeton remains an option, Hyman has informed the Tigers, who don’t currently employ a head coach, that he is reconsidering his future. With word out that he’s an academic free agent, multiple sources say most of the NCAA’s top hockey programs are vying to secure his services.

Does anyone have information regarding the Princeton/Quinnipiac matchup? I know someone tried to stick it in the NCAA spreadsheet, but ended up getting one of the games on the same day that Quinnipiac plays Sacred Heart. Although I think it was a M/D/Y vs. D/M/Y issue (because the person put 01/11/11 for November 1st 2011), I'd like to get it clear.
