  • Ohio State At Lake St. Playoff Time

How do you think this series plays out? I see 2 maybe 3 tough games ohio state winning a very close series.

Coming up for the series any tips on where to eat up there Laker Fans?

I'm also thinking OSU in 3 games (hoping OSU in 2; will breath a sigh of relief in either case and drown my sorrows if neither is the case). All predicated on who/how many can make the trip, particularly on defense. If we are as short as we were the last half of the Saturday game against Ferris, it will be a particularly tough series and possibly a short one...

Based on what I saw this weekend, I think Ohio State wins this series but I'm pulling for the Lakers. With the Buckeyes having swept Miami, I'd like to keep them out of TUC status since that damages our NCAA chances, seeding, etc. And, conversely if the Lakers could become a TUC, our 3-0-1 record against them certainly helps.

The casino buffet, maloneys alley, the antlers and the palace saloon are pretty good places to eat. I hope you enjoy your weekend very much except when it comes to the hockey.

I think Ohio State comes out on top, but it depends which Ohio State team shows up, the one that swept Miami last month, or the one that limped to the finish line. If the Buckeyes are going to win this series, we're going to have to have some guys start putting the puck in the back of the net.

Agreed, depends on which team shows up. The Friday game we had against them 10 days ago I thought we gave away. If they follow the game plan they used for the Saturday game, primairly better shot selection and getting in close for the rebounds they should prevail. Oh yeah, AND NO STUPID PENALTIES! The ref's call enough junk without us giving them a real reason.

No Kidding on the Penalties the stupid ones have killed them all season long. Hope Geding is good to go this weekend and we know Krough will not be playing on Friday or Saturday so Martell will probably suit up for those games. If Geding cant go then Dries will go back to the Blue Line and McNeil or Kritland will be up front. One Guy im not worried about is Cal he as been a rock for the whole season and probably deserves a few more wins for his efforts. Looking forward to my trip to the U P this weekend. I will now have seen a game in every building but Alaska.

Hope you have a safe trip. Snow forecast for most of the week up there but what else is new for Sault Ste. Marie in the winter time?

He got 2 games for the hit from behind? Is this knowledge out there somewhere (CCHA website for example)? It was a really bad penalty and a dangerous hit to be sure, but there have been plenty of similar hits this year that were not penalized or certainly not as severely.

Detriot has had a worse winter then we have had up here. The weather should not be a factor just pay close attention to stop signs and intersections and you should be alright.

How is the parking at the Arena? Is there a charge for it?

2 Bucks if you get there early enough your right in front of the door. There are some lots across the street that charge about the same.

There is parking at the arena for a charge, I want to say it was like $3 or $5. I've only paid to park one time though and it was the first game of the season so I can't remember. There are a couple of lots within walking distance of the arena that are free, but if you're not familiar with the area they'd be hard to direct you to. You're probably better off paying for it because of the ease.

As far as food goes, I'd recommend Indo-China if you like Chinese or Thai food, that's probably the best restaurant in town. Otherwise Zorbas has some good Greek food and pizza. After the games I'd suggest Maloney's Alley, it's the only bar worth going to if you don't want a cramped dive of a college bar. They have decent beer on tap, food isn't too bad, and it's a pretty cool building. There is always the casino too if you get bored.
