    2011 Men's Division 1 National Tournament Teams Announced

    16 TEAMS WILL DO BATTLE IN DELAWARE MARCH 5-9

    The 16 teams that have qualified for the 2011 ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championships are:

    * Lindenwood
    * Davenport
    * Ohio
    * Adrian
    * Delaware (HOST)
    * Minot State
    * Rhode Island
    * Arizona State
    * Oklahoma
    * Penn State
    * Oakland
    * Robert Morris Illinois
    * Stony Brook (AUTOBID)
    * Canton (AUTOBID)
    * Slippery Rock (AUTOBID)
    * Rutgers(AUTOBID)

    More information to follow later today, including the tournament seeding, matchups, brackets, and game times

    Here's the matchups for the opening round and the quarter-finals:

    Saturday, March 5th

    #3 Ohio vs. #14 Canton, 10:00 a.m.
    #6 Minot State vs. #11 Oakland, 11:00 a.m.

    #2 Davenport vs. #15 Rutgers, 1:00 p.m.
    #7 Rhode Island vs. #10 Penn State, 2:00 p.m.

    #1 Lindenwood vs. #16 Slippery Rock, 4:00 p.m.
    #8 Arizona State vs. #9 Oklahoma, 5:00 p.m.

    #5 Delaware vs. #12 Robert Morris, 7:00 p.m.
    #4 Adrian vs. #13 Stony Brook, 8:00 p.m.

      Davenport and Lindenwood are a caliber above all the other teams. Lindenwood will have a real challenge to get their third Championship in a row if they come up against the Panthers.

        Generally speaking, I agree, but I should point out that neither won their conferences' playoff championships. LU and DU definitely the two favorites, but at the same time, I don't remember things ever being this wide open. Everyone 1-12 has at least a decent shot at the semifinals, and I could legitimately see 5 or 6 teams taking the whole thing.
