So, you got me thinking. And here we have THE STAT OF THE WEEK

Hockey East draft picks by team

      From HockeyEastOnline:
      http://www.hockeyeastonline.com/pdf/men/nhldraft.pdf
      http://www.hockeyeastonline.com/men/.../nhl062610.pdf

      TOTAL DRAFT PICKS BY TEAM:

      BU 10
      BC 10
      Maine 5
      Northeastern 5
      UVM 4
      UNH 3
      Merrimack 2
      UMass 1
      Providence 1
      UML 0

      Surprises to me:
      - UNH has only 3 draft picks, 1 of whom has not seen a shift yet (Knodel). He also doesn't appear anywhere on HockeyEastOnline as a draft pick. Need help from a Wildcat fan here, please.

      - Maine has 5 draft picks, tied for Northeastern. Maine's are weighed more toward the upper classmen, NU's more toward the lower classmen. Would say that NU is rising and Maine is falling. Of course, how many of those NU draft picks were recruited legally?

And of those draft picks, the percentage that were taken in the top 4 rounds. BC with an impressive 8 of their 10 draft picks were taken in the first 4 rounds.

Team No in Rds 1-4 Pct in Rd 1-4
      BU 5 50%
      BC 8 80%
      Maine 3 60%
      Northeastern 2 40%
      UVM 2 50%
      UNH 1 33%
      Merrimack 1 50%
      UMass 0 0%
      Providence 0 0%
      UML 0 0%

Maine is recruiting Jonny Brodzinski who plays for Blaine,MN. He's a 6-0' 190 lb. senior and a finalist for Mr. Hockey in Minnesota. He doesn't even have to change uniforms.

        Here's the link.

Never noticed that before - it really is uncanny.

random note: Blaine was Reimann's H.S. team, right?

I know Reimann was from Blaine. Think he then played for a team in Montana or in MN after HS as he was 20 or so when he showed up at Maine. First of Maine's players to struggle with concussion issues while at Maine. Good to see us in MN recruiting, but we need impact players for next year!

Northeastern takes game 1 vs BU 4-2

NU was 1-4 on pp while BU went 1-9

                Wonder who reffed that one????

Jake Rutt is an 'offense first' defenseman, too.

I see our team D improving drastically next year...

Hope so. Offense will be anemic with graduation and early departures.

He could be the next coming of Paul Kariya and it wouldn't matter unless the team takes better care of the puck and starts playing defense and stops giving up soft goals.
