Alaska travels to Bemidji to take on the beavers, both teams desperately need points this weekend.

Thoughts and predictions on the series.

Anything less than three points, and might as well make hotel reservations in Grand Forks or Duluth for the first round of playoffs.

It will be interesting to see attendance this weekend. The high school football team plays in the state quarterfinals in Duluth Friday night, and it's the second week of deer camp (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb9yhhflmvY)...

I'd have to agree on a Beaver sweep. Now that they've actually won a WCHA game they'll be pretty much unstoppable. So many things in their favor like ...

Bemidji went to the NCAA's two years in a row ...
Bemidji is in Minnesota ...
UAA is from Iglooland ...
Beaver fur > Walrus fur ...
UAA lost a game this season by 6 goals ...
UAA is Bemidji's first unranked opponent ...
Bemidji is in Minnesota ...
Dave Shyiak isn't as funny as Frank Serratore ...
UAA isn't powerhouse DU ...
Bemidji has traveled like 278 miles this season ...
UAA will have traveled 8000+ miles this season by the time they get to Bemidji ...
Bemidji is in Minnesota ...
Bemidji hasn't lost 5 games by a total of 10 goals ...
Paul Bunyan ...
Bemidji has only played 6 games and UAA has played 8 ...
Babe The Blue Ox ...
Beavers are real ...
Seawolves are mythical and mystical ...
Bemidji is in Minnesota ...
Bemidji has more players from the USHL ...
New Arena ...
In Minnesota ...
Minnesota = "The State of Hockey" ...
Bemidji beat SCSU ...
SCSU is in Minnesota ...

So there's that.

Yeah. UAA has like zero chance.

UAA is in Alaska . . .
Sarah and Bristol are from Alaska . . .
Bristol is on Dancing With The Stars . . .
UAA will make the dance . . .
Sarah can see Russia from her door in Alaska . . .
BSU is in MN and we had Jesse Ventura as governor . . .
BSU is not in Alaska and hasn't had to travel like 8000 miles . . .
BSU HAS lost their five games by 10 goals . . .
UAA once had John Hill as a coach . . .
UAA beat Windsor . . .
Windsor is in Canada . . .
Canada is north of MN and south of UAA . . .
So there's that!

So, UAA does not have a shot!!!

I expect a hard fought series - just hope to see BSU get 3-4 points.

Tom Serratore is funnier than Dave Shyiak . .

And just to get one thing straight.

Sarah Palin is not an Alaskan. She has been unfrocked (not to say she was ever frocked -- except possibly in her own mind -- which of course means that at some point her mind was frocked). She has officially been DeAlaskanified.

She did it to herself when she adopted the Fargo movie accent at the RNC convention and continued with it.

And the next mention of that empty-headed bimbo in this thread gets -1.568,997 internet points deducted and has to move to Michelle Bachmann's district.

Bemidji State beat St. Cloud State
St. Cloud State is in Michelle Bachmann's Sixth District
The Sixth District was too stupid to know better and re-elected Bachmann.

Bemidji Wins (I think).

Why do you hate America?

Seriously though ... None of that quite reflects the full derision that I'm trying to get across here ... this comes close a bit closer perhaps ...

The Grant-Kwas-Wiles line have been definite "go-ers" and can create scoring chances on any shift.

There are several talented newcomers as well. Justin Kirchhevel was injured in preseason and played his first two games versus Mankato two weeks ago. He only scored two goals in his debut so we have high hopes for him. Before the season I tagged three rookies as potential impact players ... forwards Matt Bailey and Brett Cameron along with defenseman Wes McLeod.

All three of them are showing promising signs of living up to that. There are other players throughout the lineup who'll be potential scorers as well.

7 of the 8 Seawolves games have been either decided by a single goal or ended in a tie. 12 players have at least one goal in our 8 games so it's scoring by committee.

BSU winning = Read-Lowe-George with a dash of Billberg.
