How first-round draft pick and wunderkind BC freshman Kevin Hayes doesn't take "honors" with no points and only one shot is beyond me!

Out of all of BU's freshman, if the worst that can be dredged up is that he got injured, that's fine by me.
Because that one shot was awesome!!!11!!!!!111!!

Best line evah! Looking forward to Next Weak!

Maybe you could keep a cummulative score for individual schools or coaches. That could also be interesting come March!

Nice work Stevie....more interesting than reading about possible line combos. Will there be an all-HE milk cartoon version at the end of the season?

Re: Hockey East: Rookie of the Weak

After an ugly weekend full of beat downs and ties, hockey east still has four teams that are winless. Here is why...

                      Third star (1 point):
                      *****http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/masl/sports/m-hockey/auto_headshot/5715907.jpeg******

Marc Boulanger – G, UML – Despite a remarkable improvement over last week’s performance, Boulanger finds himself on the list this week in place of his counterpart, Doug Carr. After giving up four goals to Maine during his 40 minutes of extended garbage time while in relief of Carr in the opening game of the season, Boulanger followed up that performance by giving up another four spot this weekend to RIT – albeit this time it took the full 60 minutes to do so. Even though Maine and RIT are both legitimate contenders to some; they both have their own considerable question marks in goal making them suspect to an upset when facing even the most mediocre of opponents. However, October drama was averted, and Marc’s 4.62 GAA and .867 save % is a big reason why Lowell remains winless.

                      Second star (3 points):
                      *****http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/bost/sports/m-hockey/auto_headshot/5622469.jpeg******

Adam Clendening – D, BU – Contravening Clendening learned how quickly one goes from hero to zero in fanboy nation. After his three point outburst against uber-squat Toronto earned him a lifetime invite to slumber parties in Rogie’s basement, Clendening has fallen back to earth some amassing only one point through three games that actually count. This should be star defensemen found himself with no points in this weekend’s tilt with Jeff Teglia's UMass squad; though he did pick up a minus and a two minute time out during a third period choke to the winless Minutemen. He currently finds himself tied in points with all-american candidates Garrett Noonan and Justin Courtnall. Suddenly the grass isn’t looking greener on the campus with no grass. No truth to the rumor that Clendening recently downloaded ‘London Calling’ to his iPod.

                      First star (5 points):
                      *****http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/prov/sports/m-hockey/auto_headshot/5743807.jpeg******

Mark Adams – D, PC – Another embarrassing member of the Adams family. Mark, who was somehow drafted by the Buffalo Sabres, had a forgettable weekend during a two game sweep by the UMD Bulldogs. In his first masterpiece, a lazy Adams was whistled for a hook late in the second period of a 3-2 game resulting in a penalty shot – the successful conversion of which ultimately proved to be the game winner. Then during Saturday’s clincher, He followed up his Friday abortion with another defensive debacle amassing a minus two and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in a 7-1 nail biter.

Former Hockey East goalies are off to a good start in the NHL, if you look at save percentage HE has 5 of the top 8,
and you could throw out the #1 guy because he only has 10 saves.

Re: Hockey East: Rookie of the Weak

Another weekend is in the books, and another round of ugly hockey has sickened us all. Thankfully bu's easy schedule resurgance has carried the flag world wide for an otherwise pitiful hockey east

                                Third star (1 point):
                                *****http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/bost/sports/m-hockey/auto_headshot/5622469.jpeg******

Adam Clendening – D, BU – despite a pair of games with moribund providence and winless umass for the terriers, Clendening was again unable to muster any points on the weekend. To make matters worse, he finished with no shots in either game, and was on the ice for multiple goals against in picking up a net minus one on the weekend. Clendening stands at one point through five games.

                                Second star (3 points):
                                *****http://uvmathletics.com/images/2010/9/1/MHKY_Brickley.jpg******

Connor Brickley – F, UVM – to the winless go the spoils! This still winless catamount makes his first appearance on the list despite only having one game on the weekend (thanks in part to a largely uneventful slate around the league). Brickley picked up a minus one, recorded only one shot on goal, and was assessed a two minute minor for slapping after the whistle in a weekend tie with the Merrimack Warriors. Like his pen-pal, Clendening, Brickley stands at one point through three games of the young season

                                First star (5 points):
                                *****http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/umas/sports/m-hockey/auto_headshot/5769050.jpeg******

Eric Filiou – F, UMA – A runaway winner this week, Filiou had a miserable weekend in his bout with BU. In limited fourth line duties, Filiou managed to be on the ice for three of the four goals against his last place squad. The end result was a merciful minus two as one of the goals against was on the powerplay. Filiou was unavailable for comment but we believe he would have said something to the effect of being thankful that he was finally able to help Umass win something.

Dishonorable mention: Cody Ferriero, Kevin Hayes, Nick Sorkin.
