Well. This sucks. Haven't played that bad in months. Feel bad for the seniors, but at least they left with one piece of hardware the mason cup. Congrats unh. Go ccha.

Congrats to Miele for all the assists.

You were right, mcfarljd, he's really a well-rounded player ;)

I think I speak for everyone when I say we're so proud of Andy Miele and the great season that he's had. He was thrilling to watch and he provided us with so many great memories. There's nothing that a Hobey committee, and especially a North Dakota fan, can say to take away from that.

Tough way to end for the seniors, but what a four years they gave us, on and off the ice. The best class Miami has had, IMO, and don't forget to include Tommy Wingels. Thanks to all of them, it's been fun for us.

The game was disappointing, but UNH played very well in all facets. I know some will look at the big guns not getting on the board, but I thought the d struggled some in this game. But that's history now, so let's look forward.

I remember four years ago when one of the Ohio State people said the real question about Miami was whether it was a one class wonder (referring to the Jones, Davis, etc. class). I think that question was answered. :) Miami is in a similar situation now with an important group coming in. Next year will be different because the freshmen will not have had the experience of playing with Miele, Camper, Loverde, Cannone, Vaive. This year's seniors had that "training" for a year with Jones, et al. So I look for a little rebuilding next year; patience will be needed, especially given that some of the freshmen will be very young. The other question, of course, is to see if anyone leaves. Should be interesting.

Speaking of the incoming class, Coleman is up to 82 points in the USHL! Yikes! I did notice that Coleman was out of the lineup last night for Indy. Hope it is not serious. McKay still the top goaltender in the USHL although he is about dead even with another goalie. McKay is listed as a '12, although that depends on what the Miami goalies do this spring/summer.

I think this is one of the more interesting transitions Miami will have. MU has a lot of recruits lined up (the Sieloff commitment last week was big also), but you never know until they play. We'll see.

Agree with everything you said. We will be in a position similar to Notre Dame this year, but if the defensemen return, we'll be much better off than the Irish were this year on the back end...and with better goaltending. Should be a fun year to be Rico with such a green, but talented group coming to campus.

Hey all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Just wanted to say that despite the tough end of our season, I'm very happy with what our guys accomplished and where this program is going. I can't wait to see the new class next year, they certainly have some big shoes to fill.

Hope "Team CCHA" represents well in the Frozen Four.

Welcome! It's always good to have another Miami poster around here. We usually get an influx heading into tournament time, but someone who climbs aboard AFTER the season ends must truly be a devoted fan! ;)

I guess I'll cheer for Notre Dame because I want a CCHA team to win it all rather than a WCHA team or B1G team. However, I don't want Notre Dame to win it because then they would get their first NC before Miami does. Such a dilemma!

I suppose it's time to start the offseason thread... here you go (http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?95786-Official-2011-Miami-Offseason-Thread-Hawkheads-face-left-and-no-scalping-allowed!).

I do want to cheer for Notre Dame and the CCHA, but I don't want them to get the title before us!! lol :) So I guess I am cheering for:

1. Duluth
2. Notre Dame
3. Michigan
4. Who's the other team in? ;)
