  • Penn State - Division I Hockey 2.0

    http://nittanywhiteout.com/2010/09/1...ckey-goes-d-1/

    Welcome to Division I.

$75 Million for a new rink is a good start.

I am assuming that the main rink will be NHL sized and the practice rink will be olympic sized?

I am glad that construction on this can start soon. Especially in this tough economy it will help to provide a lot of jobs for construction workers, plumbers, electricians, steel works, and others when they really need the work.

There is an alternative to taxpayer subsidized sports arenas. Congratulations to Penn State and to Terry and Kim Pegula.

Re: Penn State - Division I Hockey 2.0

Reading the press release, I noticed something.

"In a somewhat brilliant move, Penn State hockey will make the switch to the varsity level in 2012-13"

If the world ends on December 22, 2012, they won't get a full season in. I guess we can all talk about the what ifs in the afterlife.

of the Denver Post already has and the DU fans are not thrilled!

DU coach George Gwozdecky has four years remaining on the 12-year contract he signed in 2002. Coincidentally, 2014 could be the year Penn State will be ready to officially join Division I and become founding members of the proposed Big Ten hockey conference, along with Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Please excuse my reach while I connect the dots.

And I just ordered a hat from McLanahan's website too.... Congrats to Penn State! I'm so excited, I've been a huge Penn State fan my entire life!

Good luck in every game except for when you play UNH which I hope is yearly.
