"Saponari will play this coming season with Dubuque of the USHL, as the Thrashers helped point him in that direction. He could have opted to play as an over-ager in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, but by playing in the USHL, he retains NCAA eligibility to play at another school in the 2011-12 season. (Saponari said his older brother will finish his education at BU, but not play hockey.)"

Dr. Baer, he would look good in the Cherry and White on the PP with JL next year, eh ?

pretty sure yoiu cant play major junior as an over ager unless you played there the year before. thats how it is in OHL, maybe not the same in Q though

You could give me 10 days and two "Posting Pics to the Web" for Dummies books, and I still couldn't get that done... :D

...That means that he most likely he will be going to another college.

Now we can open the pool for folks to bet on when Weaver and Schott figure out he's not at a wedding... :p

This situation called for the message board tactical nuke facepalm.

This situation called for the message board tactical nuke facepalm.

We may not always have the best team on the ice-but we certainly have the most inventive and interesting fans on the board. :)

Is this more corny than "Without a Pirri"?

You're barking up the wrong tree on that one.

That's my guess. He was drafted by Sudbury. I googled that but found nothing new on line.Ya know they say these things come in three's........soooo we should be all set except for that niggly little JL problem.I also believe PK will be an issue next year which is a good thing.

I know that you gave Tyler Hinman credit for that, but you used it. :)

Why is it good that PK will be an issue?

OK Ralph, just for you I will stop using titles.

RC,
I should just ignore this, but all I was saying with that "Without a Pirri" is corny. Nothing is wrong with it.

[QUOTE=Ralph Baer;4850098]Why is it good that PK will be an issue?[/QUOTE As sad as this may be...getting kids picked in the draft and yes leaving school early to sign pro contracts has become a recruiting tool....I was told by a person close to these situations on the NHL side "that if your going to be a top program get used to it and stop being a cry baby"because of his size and age I believe PK is our next threat ! JMO

Got it. I thought that you meant "Penalty Kill" and although I agreed that may be an issue, it didn't seem like that would be a "good thing"..

I had thought the same thing about PK. Perhaps we are using initials a bit quickly. We all by now know of JD, BP and JL but other abbreviations are just not that familiar yet.:o

Got it. I thought that you meant "Penalty Kill" and although I agreed that may be an issue, it didn't seem like that would be a "good thing"..I believe we can agree that these recent events way more than anything we have done on the ice have put our program on the national radar screen (jmo)This is a sign of a program on the way up.I also think in the next few years we will also see some undrafted players get signed to AHL contracts(not ECHL) right out of school Chase being the first. This kind of stuff doesn't go unnoticed by players, parents, advisors and most important NHL scouts. Its one thing to bring recruits to the Red Freak Out, its a whole other thing when you bring them in for a visit and point out 3 or 4 pro scouts sitting in the stands. Our summer of discontent has made some scouts sit up and take notice that I know.
