Some feel UAA vs. UAF is the "best (http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/2006/10/college-hockeys-best-rivalry.html)" college hockey rivalry because of the inherent sociocultural antagonism that is historically and psychologically embedded in Alaskan culture.

It all depends on the criteria one uses to rank rivalries. Current hatred? Geographic Proximity? School similarity? Historic tradtiion? Length of time? Stakes played for? Fan behavior? Statewide followings? Largest fan exposure? Coaches who hate each other? Pageantry and school pride? Cultural superiority?

UAA/UAF is a great rivarly for state supremacy, school superiority and cultural differences within Alaska.

But for me, I prefer my great rivarlries to have at least 30 or 40 years of animosity built up, and even better when it's 50--100 years, so that the history can tell a deeper story, not just more recent hatred. Others may think that a long history is less important, and that current hatred counts the most. That's what makes these discussions fun.

Fat smelly loser chicks?

Of course.

So you're the ONE. Critics are knocking St. Cloud's blueline, but almost everyone is calling Lee-Dunn the best rotation in the league if not the country.

Lee is also the biggest choker in the league/country.

So I'm not the only one that remembers Jack Campbell bailing him out last January...

She will be waiting an eternity. You know, just because most college hockey fans are fat smelly loser dudes, that doesn't mean that women don't post on here, too.Relax...it's not like she lifted up her skirt and he called BS...:p

I think they have a secret club or something and RWD is the militant president. She probably gives herself a buzz cut and wears wife beaters to preside over the meetings. She always has a hissy fit when anyone assumes a female poster here is a guy.

We do? Could have fooled me. I hate DU way more than I hate Wisco. And I'm from Minnesota so I am forced to hate the Gophers before I actually admitted that I did. I also get the vibe from the players that they hate DU about as much as they hate Minny. So I definitely think the gap is very slim.

DU is only behind the Goofers as the Fighting Sioux's number 1 rival...Wisco has not been the rival they were in the 80's...

The pedantic stick that is physically and psychologically embedded in your behind is antagonistic to your intrinsically simian gate.:)

Your penchant for phallic phenomenology positively correlates with the abnormal repression of your Oedipus complex and attachment anxiety explicated by salient psychosexual defensive mechanisms and fastidious neurotic psychopathology indicating you are indeed bisexual. Have a good day at school Was and don't drop the soap in the showers after gym class.:D

Also, a really great rivalry needs to have championships on the line every now and then. Nothing is better than beating your rival when they are ranked number 1, or in the playoffs for a Championship.

a great example is Minnesota beating the hell out of UND for the National Championship in 1979. Who doesn't like that?

I think alaska is missing that part.
