  • Is the CCHA the ECAC of the West?

just seemed like a good off season topic to discuss.

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

LOL. This is going to be fun (just wait until the panties of Cornell and St. Lawrence fans get in a bunch reading this and they start posting)

If they are the ECAC of the West, they are the ECAC lite. Nothing is as good as the original! CCHA at least has a national title and some title game trips.

A few fun facts about the ECAC over the past 11 years...

    - The ECAC has averaged 1.9 NCAA bids per tournament (21 bids in 11 years)
    - With a 9-21 record, they are winning at a whopping 30% clip in the tournament.
    - Only 2 teams have made the FF in 11 years... A 9.5% success rate for their teams to make the FF.
    - Of the 44 Frozen Four bids over the last 11 years, the ECAC's 2 comprised of just 4.55% of the field. Bemidji has done as much as the ECAC has in the last 10 years.

All we need to do is get hokydad and jcarter in here... and then sit back, make some popcorn, and enjoy.

The former seems to have recently gone off his meds. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Get BWK in here and the board just might break.

Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

It would undoubtedly be the #24th ranked thread in USCHO history.

But back to the topic at hand. Both leagues are rather ****ty, so yeah, I can see how the CCHA could be considered the ECAC of the west. How does Western Michigan's academics compare with Ylae's? Is Lake State higher or lower than #26?

Can't we all just get along?
Always remember... This is just a game we're talking about here. Let's not take it all too seriously.

CCHA is going down the tubes.

Hmmm... Hockey Rast is an offshoot of the EZAC. CCHA is an offshoot of the WCHA. Does that make the WCHA the EZAC of the west? Oh crud.

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."
