Colgate Univ offseason speculations

Guess we need one of these, times are a changing. My initial thoughts are that we will be an improved team. We eeked out fourth place with predominantly frosh defenseman, no set goaltender, and some offense. Was a very good freshman class with a year under their belts now.

Two goalies and a couple of good forwards coming in 2010...might be interesting.

Thanks for starting up the thread Shabby!... I share your cautious optimism. My only concern is replacing D-Mac & Ethan, however that really can't be done. Have to think Smitty, Day, and Brisebois will take over with good support offensively in Bourdon, Bartliff and Firman/Prockow.

We certainly should have an improved and more mature defense, and the incoming class looks to add something to the mix. It will be interesting to see how the netminders pan out. It's Evan's job to lose I suppose, but there are one or two frosh who might make some noise.

It's a long way to October 9th, but this is always fun getting everyone's opinions.

Just heard that we will be playing Cornell in NJ at the Prudential center on Thanksgiving weekend this year. That will be a roadtrip for me !!

Shabby, is that a one-game event, or part of a tournament -- with other teams --at the PruCenter? Or is it in addition to our home-and-home series? I don't remember seeing this game on the proposed schedule. (...can't seem to find the '10-'11 sched on the 'Gate website).

Whatever,... I will have to give serious thought to having a New Jersey turkey this November.....

Hoping everyone is having a great summer !!! Two months to football and about three for hockey. I'm thinking we're going to be competitive in both. Wagner looks like the real deal and we're ranked #9 preseason in football. Highest ranking since 2004 preseason !

In case you missed it, Colgate website lists Gate vs Big Red Nov 27 at the Prudential Center at 7:30 PM. Hope the Devils play in the afternoon, what a day !!!
