Why does ncaa allow benches on opposite sides of the rink (iirc nhl/iihf don't)? Teams having long changes in different periods seems strange.
Good question... I'm not sure. Munn Ice Arena has the benches on opposing sides, but they are positioned so that both teams only have the long change in the 2nd period.
The way the benches are positioned at War Memorial Coliseum seems pretty unfair to the road team... but obviously it's not against the rules.
Guess they figure no one caught it the first time. I hate ESPNU coverage...all the commercials are redic and IMO giving Michigan an advantage due to rest time.

Is Miami playing during these TV timeouts? How come they don't get any advantage during the TV timeouts?
