If Norwich plays their game and takes care of the puck, after what I saw today The Cadets are the Champs.

Not counting any chickens here, but with both the men and women playing for the National Championship, the 100th Season of Norwich Hockey could end on a decidedly high note! GO WICK! ;)

Once you get to the NCAAs, pretty much every team can say this.

Being Norwich just beat "my" team and I saw how 3 of the SN goals were scored (dead giveaways by Oswego) it makes this statement a fact for Norwich!

Oswego did not play well at all...credit to SNC for taking advantage.

I'll be cheering for SNC tomorrow. (Sorry...decided to sit in "oswego section" instead of 8)

Baby, you better believe the Knights are back in the New York groove (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-4vMQOOiUY).

This NEVER gets old -- LOVE IT!! :D

I'll never forget in 2006 when we driving up to the parking ramp in Elmira and could hear this blaring from a car in the parking ramp. Drove by two little cars crammed with SNC college students jammin out in the parking ramp.

I still find it pretty funny that this song was the theme of the Project Runway commercials

I happened to catch both games on fasthockey.com, unfortunately couldn't make it to the rink :(
It was impressive to see St. Norbert claw their way to a win over a team that I thought was going to be in the final. Also at the end of the first period in the Norwich/Platty game, I was left scratching my head as to how it was still a 1-0 game and not 2-0,3-0 etc.
I'm really leaning towards Norwich taking tomorrow's finale if both teams play the way they did today.
Mr. Crosby, you sounded great during intermission :)

Hell of a game by all 4 teams really. Should be a great Championship game! I missed the first 38 minutes of the OSU/SNC contest, but between listening to WNYO on the way into town and talking with folks they said it was just as exciting as it sounded. Title is up for grabs in my eyes. I don't really have a favorite, just hope for a great game of hockey in Lake Placid.

Two things I was a little bummed about. A+ for all those Laker fans making the trip, but C- for leaving tonight and just giving your tickets away.

B for the amount of Cardinal fans....DOUBLE FF for enthusiasm. More fans were standing cheering for freakn t-shirts instead of player introductions or even the FIRST PLATTSBURGH GOAL...

Having said that A for the Norwich fans...they were on their feet early and often...D- for the person in attendence (dont even want to call him a fan) for going into the Plattsburgh crowd, or crowd in general and waving your school flag in peoples faces. Yes I've been hit with our own PSU flag, but Tim never whipes it around like this person was doing.

Very good start to Championship weekend....the wife is already counting the days till next years 2011 Shopping Spree, I mean Final Four in Minn..... Good luck to both teams!

The team with the most rest wins. But I'm hoping for a CCCP victory

First day of 70 degree weather for Boston since Halloween - tomorrow. :)

I beg to differ. If Norbert plays D against Norwich who averages a lot less goals per game than Oswego the same as today I think Norbert will win. I don't think Norwich will turn the puck over 3 times for 3 goals but I se it as 2-1 SNC!!

My take on the SNC-Oswego game.....Watching on FASThockey, I told my wife, "SNC looks just like Norwich." They have the same movement to the puck, quick breakouts, great forechecking, speed.

Norwich, on the other hand, has better blue line D and goaltending. Advantage Norwich.

Should be a great game.:)

Yesterday was all about risk and reward. The risk of a six plus hour drive from Maine wondering what would happen if the boys went down against Platty only to face the same drive back today. Ugh. The reward? The results of both games and the prospects of meeting SNC on Saturday. It all paid off.

I saw both games. I watched the OSU/SNU game as long as I could without taking sides but found myself favoring a scrappy SNC team. To be honest besides loving SNC's fight I admitted to my self I didn't want to see NU have to deal with Oswego. I was not disappointed, e.g. from the get go I thought that given their reputation Oswego, didn't have the focus and determination to match their reputation. Their passing didn't seem to be as crisp as I would have expected and when passes did connected they were often too short, to long, to soft, etc. It also seem that when he was on the ice, much was being asked of Oswego's star, Neil Musslewhite (who did score a goal) with plans to feed him the puck and let him do the heavy lifting. Wow, is Neil all he cracked up to be, e.g. "skilled lightning" but he could only do so much. Again, what a great hockey player.

Clearly SNC's aggressive forechecking seem to catch Oswego by surprise and they just never got into a rhythm that allowed them to play as consistently as their record would indicate. SNC seemed to be smaller, very aggressive and given any break would exploit it. I was not as impressed with their playmaking and passing skills as I am with the Cadets but these Knights seized all the opportunities and took four of them to the bank. SNC came here with a clear plan, played it and it payed off. I try not to criticize other clubs but somehow I sensed that Oswego after coming off such a dramatic and dominant win over Bowdoin (that included four Musslewhite goals)--may have arrived in Lake Placid assuming that they would only have to go through to motions of two more games like Bowdoin before heading back to Oswego with a trophy. That maybe unfair of me but it is just a feeling in my gut. In reality, about an hour after the game I happen to glance through a window in the arena and saw a very dejected Oswego team load their gear into the bus for a long ride home. Sad--but we also should not forget that this is an Oswego team loaded with a dozen Freshmen just like NU so we will see this 26-3 crowd again and again.

The Plattsburg/Norwich game? Well it well a typical Plattsburg/Norwich scrap. Shots on goals were not posted on the score board so I was surprised later to see that the SOG in the 1st period were as even as they were. Actually, I thought NU had won that stat by a wide margin. The second period I would have called a toss up, e.g. Plattsburg owned the first half of the period but NU took control in the second half. Hands down Pier Oliver Cotnoir's rocket into the Plattsburg net late in the second was an absolute thing of beauty and once again Klinger really showcased why he is an All-American goalie. He has been amazing down the stretch. The third period was a blur of back and fourth until the final buzzer. Great game for both clubs. Both have a lot to be proud of teams, fans, etc.:)

Next up, SNC. And we can finally say it, "Okay Cadets you can now focus on the final game in the NCAA Division III playoffs." Just keep playing your game. Good luck.:)

I may not breathe until about 7:30 tonight - what a great pair of games -and the fans we sat around last night (both Oswego and Plattsburg) were a lot of fun - although the Oswego group was clearly rooting for Wick in game two, seems no love lost with the Cards there -

Well, guys, hope you are resting (and the ladies, too!) -

GO WICK!!!!!!
