  • Princeton @ RPI - Big Red Freakout! (2/20/10)

Coach Appert and his gang of seniors (and the rest of the team, for that matter) go for their first Big Red Freakout! win since coming to RPI.

The Engineers come off a solid win at home vs. Quinnipiac, looking for a four point weekend. I look to get my first two points in creating my first game thread.

We did seem to match up well against Princeton down here in NJ-but I have seen the Tigers play a couple times and they are just unpredictable. One night they stink up the joint and the next , they seem like a top 20 team. We beat them with special teams last time, I get the feeling we will need to be strong 5 on 5 this time. We are now a 17 win team this year (and if we didn't have a few late game collapses we could have already been a 20 game winning team ). One more win guarantees a first winning season for coach SA. Let's get it tonight. Go Red!!!

I'm sorry, but you can't put Big Red Freakout! in the title. As we all know, Freakout is completely unimportant, a mere giveaway, and thus should not be associated with the game itself.

Doc, I know that when we played Princeton in NJ, they were shorthanded. Do you know if any of their injured players have returned?
It should be a raucous night and a great atmosphere.
Now the team has to come out and add to that.
I am looking forward to being at the HFH for a freakout victory tonight.

          lets go red!!!!!!!

At the risk of yet another facepalm, could you provide a link to whatever Chris Lerch wrote about the Freakout?

Princeton has had a plethora of injuries this year and many of their players have been playing through some of them. They also have had a propensity to take penalties at bad times-much like we have-but they have been made to pay for those penalties more often than in the past. We scored several special teams goals on them in NJ but I suspect we will have to play better 5 on 5 this time. This is not going to be a walk in the park for us-but if we can play with the kind of in tensity that our team has shown on occassion (but sometimes not for 60 minutes) we should be able to control play. I honestly felt at the game in NJ we were just the better team-now let's just show that again at home at the BRF. Go Red!!

I think RHamilton mentioned previously that it would not-perhaps because it is televised locally by Time Warner?

Surprised that Lee is out, thought he played a pretty nice game last night. Glad that the coaches are sticking with Helfrich and Cullen; if Cullen doesn't produce tonight it's all on him as there's no reason that line shouldn't be able to produce substantial offense.
