On the heels of watching the Union/Clarkson game on TV I had to look up the box score to see just how bad Clarkson performed. I think the link below says it all. What do you feel are your team's best/worst box scores? The obvious are national championship wins. Looking for the the not so obvious and/or games you attended.

Union/Clarkson

My team is MSU. I remember walking into Van Andel saying out loud "He better start Migliaccio" over and over again. This is the one and only time I left a game in a violent mood. It was a disgraceful performance.

The worst that I've seen in person at Bemidji State would be this one:

The night after BSU's first win over UMD...

I can't find the box score but the final was 12-1 Clarkson over Northeastern in 92-93.

I don't wanna keep looking but that is bad....I know we beat Uconn 10-1 once... Can't remember when though....

Going with just the last ten years or so USCHO has archived this (http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20050311&vis=nd&home=um&gender=m) may be the low point. I had never felt anger like that watching my team play, and there were a lot of bad games that year. When UM scored just the second goal of the game, the Notre Dame players actually quit. I know we use that term a lot to describe a less than complete effort, but this was an actual capitulation. Michigan players were actually discussing how to take lanes to the net they were leaving open. I don't know why they didn't just skate off the ice and forfeit. Hard to believe this (http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20050312&vis=nd&home=um&gender=m) was one night later.

As for the best? It's hard to top this. (http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20080410&vis=nd&home=um&gender=m)

Best / most brutal:

From the D-III days: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0102/boxes/mneurit1.f08

From the current era: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0708/boxes/mminrit1.d29

Worst:

Current era: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0708/boxes/mbc_rit1.d30 (based solely on goal differential)

From the D-III era: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0405/boxes/melmrit1.f12 (most demoralizing loss)

Any time the goal differential between the two teams is twice the shot differential, well, that's just not good...

Not my team, but I do know someone on it. Plymouth State's women's team is 0-20-0 this season and they've been outscored 184-12 on the season. Here are a few of their box scores:

Denver has won seven NCAA hockey titles. Speaking only for myself, any of those seven boxscores would be "the best."

The Pioneers have lost some NCAA title games as well. Any of these championship game defeats would be "the worst."

If we're strictly going by score and what USCHO has on file, I believe these are the two:

BC-UML (http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20090213&vis=uml&home=bc&gender=m)

BC-Notre Dame (http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20061020&vis=nd&home=bc&gender=m)

Both home games. I remember BU, UNH and Maine beating up on BC prior to what USCHO has on file. I think UNH put up 10 in Durham and Maine may have won a game like 12-5 or something absurd like that.

Best:

BC-UMass (http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20030131&vis=uma&home=bc&gender=m)

Most demoralizing (does it really need to be posted)

More uplifting - Miami registers 11 goals to Canisius' 10 shots

This is the game my cousin and I started renaming Michigan goalies (since Turco) "Billy". All future Michigan goalies are now "Billy" as well. Billy Blackburn, Billy Montoya, Billy Hogan, Billy Hunwick, etc. Feel free to yell "Billy" at your team's next game against Michigan. :)

I am in A Shot and a Goal's camp re: boxscores

that being said, here are some of the most lopsided maine wins

Maine 16 - Umass Lowell 0
March 3, 1990
That game was on the heels of a 7-3 win for Maine the night before...

Miami had a rough go of it, losing 11-4 and 10-1 on back to back nights at the Alfond in January 1991.

Maine 15 - Army 5 in January, 1992.

Maine 19 - Mt. Allison 5 (ex) in October, 1988

It's amazing that the best and worst in the current era are back to back nights. I do think most teams would be happy with a split weekend of those teams.

From a personal standpoint of being there - I think this deserves a mention:

http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20051028&vis=slu&home=rit&gender=m as a sign the team had "arrived" in DI.
