I think we must have missed each other. Although I was at Friday's game only, and not Saturday's. Were you at both?

That was Luke Fulghum slightly tipping Max Bull's blast from the blueline to give Denver the upset.
No, I'm talking about the ND player that scored the the only ND goal against us in the 2005 finals. I can't believe I don't remember his name. I think he is one of many from the same family that played at ND.

I was at Friday night's game. I was chatting with Bagman between the 1st and the 2nd periods. The next intermission I was spotted by some former classmates and hung near my seats. Ironically, my seats were in section 12, row 7, really close to where my season tickets used to be!!

Travis plays for the NJ Devils on the top line now with Parise. A 3rd son of Tom's, Kelly, is a Sophomore who plays at Union College and a 4th son, Nolan, plays for Cedar Rapids of the USHL. Travis, Darcy and Kelly all played at Salmon Arm in the BCHL before going to college.

Have to wonder what the Thrashers have in mind.
Their 2 goalies are splitting the games. Although Hedberg/Hedlund? stats are far better. On 2.7.10 they recalled Kari Lethonen from the Wolves and then traded him on 2.11.10. Just announced Wolves have signed a goalie to a Tryout contract.
Wonder if there are more trade talks going on?

Just as important as two DU victories this weekend will be Minnesota's series with Duluth. If the Gophers get swept, they will most likely drop out of the Pairwise Top 25 and take DU's four TUC victories with them.

An Ohio State split with Miami would be extremely helpful in the common opponents category.

Just for the sake of discussion, let's say the U.S. men's hockey team wins a medal [pick a medal, any medal] in Vancouver.

Denver will play home games on Friday March 5th, Friday March 12th, Saturday March 13th and Sunday March 14th [if necessary].

The Colorado Avs play at Phoenix on Thursday March 4th, would fly home that night and be in Denver Friday March 5th before playing at home on Saturday March 6th against Saint Louis. The Avs play at home on Thursday March 11th against Florida. The Avs would be in Denver on Friday March 12th before flying to Dallas on Saturday the 13th to play the Stars on Sunday the 14th.

Again, the Avs would be in Denver on both Friday March 5th and Friday March 12th. On the first date Denver plays CC and on the second date Denver plays its first round opponent in the WCHA playoffs.

Pick a date, either date. Here's a possible scenario. The teams skate on to the ice for pre-game introductions. The players' names are announced over the public address system. The national anthem is played and/or sung by that evening's performers. While the lights remain dimmed, an announcement is made directing all fans to turn their attention to the Northeast corner of the ice surface, to the doors through which the Zambonis enter and leave the ice surface. The doors swing open, and a figure wearing his U.S.A. men's Olympic hockey jersey, with his recently won gold/silver/bronze medal around his neck, skates on to the ice while the public address announcers asks the crowd to give a warm welcome to former Denver Pioneer star and recent gold/silver/bronze medal winner: Paul Stastny. As I say it's just one possible scenario.
                          Final score:
                          USA--6
                          Finland--1

Assuming someone in the DU Athletic Department knows how to send a text meaasge and/or use a telephone [and either may be too large an assumption to make ], the above scenario featuring Paul Stastny now could be arranged for either Friday March 5th or Friday March 12th. It would be a nice pre-game moment to see him skate to center ice in a USA Olympic jersey wearing a gold or silver medal around his neck.
