Does DIII conduct a Skills Competition at the NCAA Finals? If so, who from your respective teams would you nominate for ...

    1. Best Goal Tender
    2. Best Shooter (accuracy)
    3. Hardest Shot (velocity)
    4. Best stickhandler (obstacle course)

No skill competition for D-III. Some D-III players are usually chosen to represent their respective regions though in the Skills Competition at the D-I Frozen Four (both men and women).

Often times, the D-III players have held their own to from what I've heard and seen.

Just some of my thoughts from the few teams I've actually seen this year.

    1. Best goaltender- Casey Tuttle, Elmira
    2. Accuracy- Dylan Clarke, Plattsburgh
    3. Hardest shot- Not sure....Tyler Lyon?? Joe Hall...Oswego
    4. Best stickhandler- Eric Satim, Plattsburgh
    5. Fastest skater- hands down Oswego's Neil Musselwhite

You can see how many teams I've seen this year obviously...

does anyone know why they don't do a DIII specific skills comp??? I think it would be a great thing to see on championship weekend... just adds to the atmosphere and the fun for the fans in attendance.

Isn't YES, the Yankees TV network? Why does the NCAA own that one? Can they sue the Yankees (not a bad idea, but not I'm not a Red Sox fan, either - some people do follow neither of those two)
2007-2008 ECAC East/NESCAC Interlock Pick 'em winner
          2007-2008 Last Person Standing Winner,
2013-2014 Last Person Standing Winner (tie)

Alas, it is "Youth Education through Sports (YES)", so says this.

            See also this site:

The YES trademark registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is limited to goods or services involving "organizing and conducting sports clinics for students, grades 6-12." So can a restaurant hang a banner that simply says: "YES!"? I doubt that anyone is claiming that the YES mark is famous so the normal trademark analysis would likely apply. Will restaurant goers seeing the banner believe that the restaurant is somehow affiliated with a sports clinic put on by the NCAA?

              Cost.

At the DI final weekend, not only are the attendees present, but they are also put up in the NCAA hotel.

I'm curious to know who on Oswego has the hardest shot. Prez, you have access to the team members it seems, could you solicit the goaltenders on Oswego to get their opinion? I've heard Mather has a cannon.

As to why there is no DIII skills competition, easy: The NCAA is too cheap to properly seed the national tournament itself. Considering that, don't expect them to spend any on something like a skills competition.
“You drive by some of these rinks in the winter and there isn't anybody out there. It's kind of sad, actually...Here it’s go to the rink, pay for your ice time and practice for an hour where we could just walk to the rink and skate for four hours if we wanted to...It was just a lot of fun. I wish I could go back and be eight years old for a couple days" -Neal Broten
