Sorry this is so late. Travel for the game in Elmira prevented me from posting this earlier.
Congratulations to Spencer Anderson of Hamline. After a stint in the OHL, Anderson had to sit out a year before he was eligible to play Collegiate Hockey. He served his time, and just became eligible this semester. That all makes last weekend much more impressive. In his first two collegiate games, Anderson put up 4 goals, and 7 points total. He did this against Adrian, whom some would argue are worthy of a high rank, although some argue the opposite. He single-handedly threw a monkey wrench into Adrian's pursuit of yet another undefeated in-region season. This performance has earned him the DIII Posters' Player of the Week Award for the week of 12/28-1/3.
In more recent action, Anderson received no points in Hamline's 4-0 loss to St. Scholastica, but he continued to produce in their 4-4 tie with Wisconsin-Superior, as he scored only 42 seconds into the game. Look for this kid to keep producing as the season continues. Because of his previous ineligibility, Anderson is starting as a Junior for Hamline, so we shall see how far he goes in only a year an a half of Collegiate Hockey.
Now onto the new business. I am opening nominations for the Player of the Week for the week of 1/4-1/10. Because this is happening so late, it would be unfair to maintain the usual 12pm ET deadline for nominations, so All nominations will be due on Monday at 10pm ET. But remember: this is for the week of 1/4-1/10, nominations should NOT be based on Monday games, the reason for the usual 12pm deadline.
