Time for a thread for the Huntington Hounds.

Game of inches: After a Kristie Kehoe goal earlier in the period, frosh Casey Pickett had her shorthanded bid turned aside by a toe save.

Lots 'O Jump: The Huskies had a 10-4 shot advantage after one period, and then gave up 16 shots before they had their first with 4:32 left in the second. Penalty trouble and a relentless attack by Bemidji were the culprits. Flo Schelling made many incredible saves, including several on screens and tips.

Right Place, Right Time: Starting with a collision and turnover by Bemidji in the Huskies' end, Lindsay Berman came up with her second straight game winner with just over two minutes left in the game. Kristie Kehoe initiated the attack and fed Brittany Esposito with a behind the back pass on the right wing. Esposito then fired a shot that trickled through the Beavers' netminder. Before she could fall on the puck, Berman reached across the crease and pushed the puck over the goal line.

            Re: Northeastern Huskies 2009-10

Thanks for starting the thread Hux!

3-2 win today for NU. After going o-for on the powerplay in 6 chances, the Huskies took advantage of 2 3rd period pps to score. Leah Sulyma saw her first game action since last February and made 32 saves for the win.

NU is now 5-1-1 and I'm not complaining.

The Difference: Diminutive Annie Hogan came up big for the Huskies, scoring the third goal that proved to be the winner in Saturday's match with Bemidji.

Does anyone know what Karoline Perdios ended up doing this year?

Hux, Great stop action on this shot! What's your outfit and what settings do you use? (sorry to take the thread off topic).

Oh, and congrats to Leah!! (there, back on topic!)

                      Thanks.

The lighting at Matthews isn't too bad, but not great. In this shot the shutter speed is actually a little slower than I like at 500th of a second, which is why the stick is blurred.

I didn't want to push the ISO too high, which is at 1000, as it greatly increases the "grain" via electronic noise. There is a lot of electronic noise in this pic, as I haven't gotten around to learning how to decrease it using a noise reduction program.

I used an F stop of 3.2 for all of the shots at Matthews, for a little boost in depth of field. I could have used 2.8 and set the ISO at 800 for less noise, but it seems (and it might actually not be all that drastically different) to me the action is captured better with more depth of field.

                      The camera is a Canon 40D with a 70-200mm 2.8 L series zoom.

Very cool pic. She seems to have a Mona Lisa like smile as she's shooting.

I was told that she went to St. A's but is not playing hockey.

Excellent weekend sweep of Vermont!! I'm so excited by this start. I wouldn't be surprised if Brittany Esposito and Flo got HEA weekly awards on Monday.

                            Onto Providence!!

I've had the good fortune of watching Espo play over the last 7 or 8 years. Great hockey mind (name) that can skate and snipe. She will wallpaper a number of award pages over the next 4 years. She's just getting started.
