Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
good read on weber

“It was surreal,” Weber said. “When I committed to Miami that was what I had in mind, to get a chance to play for a national championship.”

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
we've been on fire and dominating teams since the 3rd of the nodak game.
207 minute shutout streak for the club. we've scored 13 goals in that span.
someone needs to send wingles, reichard, and camper cases of beer after this game

First off I would like to congratulate Carter Camper on now ammassing the 100 pt mark for his career. With still a season and a half remaining and him catching fire 150 may not be out of the question. Secondly to Tommy Wingles, it is games like this that put your stamp in Miami hockey history. Absolutely remarkable game. And lastly to Cody Reichard, I dont think there was another player on this roster who had more questions about him coming into the season and the way he has performed is remarkable. Back to back shutouts and the top goaltender statistically in the country is amazing.
Also question, I can't remember but when was the last time Miami had 3 consecutive shut outs? And what is their longest shut out streak in school history? Its late and I don't feel like looking it up, plus I know others enjoy it more .Miamiredhawks08: "Side note: have any of you had to wear a helmet in SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL CAGE?!?!?!?! Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
Great team victory last night, but the boys should expect a more determined Ohio State team tonight. Frankly, I thought the Buckeyes looked tentative (except for Zac Dalpe who was ineffective at best) and didn't play with much tenacity. They made it far too easy on us, but I'd expect Markell will let them have it. Should be a much better game tonight. Hope the students are LOUD!! I believe Carlson is playing for OSU.
Recap posted for your consideration at both Jackets Required and MU RedHawks Hockey (thanks to Alex for adding me as an author!).

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
Meant to mention that there were two scouts from Ottawa sitting behind me last night so I got to talking with them. Aside from taking a look at Wideman, they were very interested in Cam Schilling. One scout even went as far to say, "he won't be with Miami next season."
Now, that's very presumptuous to assume that he'd sign a free agent deal, but he has popped up on the radar big time. In my opinion, he is already our most improved player from a year ago with Weber, Wingels and Reichard also getting consideration.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
Is Jeff Jackson really blaming Miami for his coaching failures? High hits? We're big and fast, they're small and slow. Plus, the only thing I saw that weekend were two knee-on-knees that we delivered on Friday night, perhaps in retaliation for Reichard getting run at least four separate times. But, they looked to be unintentional.
What a joke.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
Jackson might be making excuses for his team getting beat, but Markell started blaming his players on media day this week and continued after last night *** kickin'. Maybe the coach doesn't have them ready to play? They have the worst PP and are at or near the bottom on PK too. By all accounts and what I was able to garner off a bad BTN feed the Bucks hung in there with Miami for two periods, thanks in part to their goaltending. Down 2-0 and having played their top two lines to death against Rico, who rolled 4 lines for most of the night, they ran out of steam. Wingels had a fantastic game as did most of the Rehawk team. As someone said earlier if you can't be determined on your own ice...it could get real ugly tonight.“You know what we were doing? We were on the phone calling Jon Corzine — literally. I literally picked up the phone and called Jon Corzine, and said, ‘Jon, what do you think we should do?'" ~Joe Biden~

I don't see him leaving after his junior year un drafted and signing with someone, he would most doubtedly play a year of minor league hockey if he did. Granted he is a 22 yr old sophmore but still that is a long shot to believe he would jump ship as a sophmore undrafted.
With all that said, great news for him. He has worked his tail off and is deserving of what he is receiving.Miamiredhawks08: "Side note: have any of you had to wear a helmet in SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL CAGE?!?!?!?!
