This all seems very simple to me.

When UNH is aggressively forechecking, hitting, going to the hard areas of the ice and playing smart puck possesion hockey they play well.

If there style slips to a more passive approach teams cycle the puck endlessly, UNH passes the puck too much through traffic, the offense stagnates on the outside and UNH gets in trouble.

Smart Aggressive = GOOD

Passive = BAD

Really, page 2? I need this to entertain me at work!

Looking ahead, crossing my fingers, how many people already have tickets for the Hockey East games in Boston? I will attend regardless of UNH's advancement, but it has always frustrated me that UNH seems to be the least organized of all the schools there. There are a couple reasons I recognize this:

Usually, BC and BU are there; it's a little easier to hop the T for them, than for UNHers to drive.

UNH's crowd is always diminished for playoffs; quarterfinals are the start of spring break, and if they make it to Boston, it's the end of Spring Break. Thus, WAY fewer students*.

The reason I'm on this subject is because I'd like to try something; can we try organizing more at tournament games? I know the band will be there; why not congregate around them (other than it being in the nosebleeds). If not there, is there some way to communicate to the larger UNH fan body, most of whom don't post on here, to get us to sit together? I've considered e-mailing the Assnt. Director of Marketing & Promotions, the Pres. of Friends of UNH Hockey, and other such people at UNH. Before I took those steps, I wanted to use this as a sound-off board.

*There was an article in today's New Hampshire about a group of students with no shirt, body paint, etc, at Men's Hockey Games. They say they're supposed to be some of the best fans of UNH Hockey out there. I challenge them: Been to a women's game yet? When I was a student, I [B]planned[B] my Spring Break around Hockey East playoff action. Where'd that sort of student involvement go? It bugs me . . .

My understanding is our wonderful athletic departement decided a number of year back it was too much of a pain to be selling the UNH block of tickets. Instead they have limited them to the players families and University employees probably a select other few and then turn the rest over to the Garden to sell. This may have changed back but based on the "grouping" of UNH fans since 05 (I think that was the year of the change) I don't think so. If you recall pre 05 there was a clear UNH section which is now gone.

This all started when UNH was still going to Frozen Fours and the A.Dept. didn't like trying to figure out who could buy the limited tickets the University recieved.

Of course they haven't been to a women's game. The Northeastern game is the first time I've noticed them at all, and I doubt they're regulars on the road for even the men.

Yay, body paint. How about making some d*** noise outside of when UNH scores, or the Litterbox starts a chant?

Don't know if anyone posted this or not, but the All-Decade team that was announced last Friday night is as follows:

Goalies:
Mike Ayers
Kevin Regan

Defensemen:
Brian Yandle
Garrett Stafford
Brad Flaishans
Tyson Teplitsky

Forwards:
Sean Collins
Darren Haydar
Colin Hemingway
Mike Radja
Steve Saviano
James van Riemsdyk

I'm guessing it was simply based on fan votes(?) And that might explain van riemsdyk especially seeing his success in the NHL, but I'd disagree with him as one of the 6 best forwards while at UNH in the decade... I'd have taken Gare over James and Radja and probably Flick would have been in there over those two, though I really liked radja (and JVR for what its worth)..

The D... can't really argue with the picks, and they're not surprising.

People who voted just must not have remembered Conklin since it was almost a decade ago that he played, but we have not seen a better goaltender at UNH, I'm sorry, its just true. Ayers and Regan were great, but Conklin was a step above them both...

The kids who paint themselves have not been to a single road/playoff game. I, on the other hand, am a senior at UNH and have been to every road game this season and last. Where's my TNH article? ;) :p

First Video has been posted (I think) of the UNH Midweek Press Conference. This is from Biz Jacobs of Inside Hockey:

I've missed 3 home games since 2001 -- two of which, I was in the hospital for after being bitten by a brown recluse spider. Where's my newspaper article? lol

I think Darci may be the only person who's attended more games than I have since '01 . . . (dam*nit)

I want to thank everybody on this thread that helped me with my rep.I've figured out that I need to stick with my own kind and definately stay off BC threads! Here's to you who "Bleeds White And Blue".I've missed four home games since the place opened. Those four times I was in Pittsburgh N.H. not catching fish through the four feet of ice.

I gotta say, of the road teams, this is the worst possible match-up for UNH, in my opinion. I'm not sure if any of the lower-seeded teams played UNH quite as tough as UVM, at the Whitt, no less.

Depends on which team shows up (meaning UVM). MC is the on that should scare people..

I wouldn't have been as scared of MC in the quarters (@ UNH). They'd probably be a very tough team to play at the Garden, though.

Anyone want to guess how many UVM fans get escorted from the Whitt this weekend? They seem to be on a roll doing about the most ridiculous thing Ive seen done by an opposition fan -kind of like fan suicide.

I didn't say I wanted an article. And we can forget about Chronicle with my shifty eyes. :p

We are not the litterbox. That was a joke to make fun of NU's Dog House. We are now about 5 people who stand in the corner of that section.
