Honestly, BWK's prediction does have some merit to it. I don't see those results as unlikely in the slightest. There's room for a few more wins, or a few more losses. Splitting with a top program and getting swept by a mid-lower tier happens quite often. You see it all the time when teams get psyched to play the big series and have a letdown the following week.
I still take issue with the fact that anything less than a NCAA appearance is a failure which should have Kyle looking for another job. Contrasting my above opinion, that makes little sense to me.
Please stop quoting bwk. I have him on ignore so I don't have to read his annoying posts.

Just want to put my season projections out there for all to see. I didn't include any ties plus shootouts, it's just win/loss

19 - 18 regular season record, just missing an at-large bid once again.
You have us losing to LSCC, Alaska, and MSU at home, and getting swept by Michigan, Notre Dame, and Michigan away, and splitting with Ferris. These picks have little to no merit, out record will be at least 5 games better than this.

Yeah, your right. There is absolutely no way that NMU would ever lose to Lake State, Alaska or MSU in the Berry. We mind as well just look at the preseason coaches poll, pretend NMU is ranked 2nd and then not pick upsets. They could very well lose a game to each of those teams at home. Also, I don't see what is so wrong about predicting sweeps on the road to nationally ranked teams, sometimes sweeps happen.
You act like I predicted a 10 win season for the Cats this year. I think that I was pretty generous in my predictions and would like to see what kind of predictions you have that come up with NMU winning 24-25 regular season games this year. Some people just can't help being delusional homers
NMU will play strong at the Berry and sneak out a close win over Miami, then they will head out on the road and fall just short in two close games. Nothing too unusual, just the type of thing that happens when you have a decent NCAA team playing a good team at home and then another decent team on the road.
How do you feel the team will fare over those 4 games?

Im not sure how they will do against Miami. Miami had to fight for wins against St. Cloud last week, and they head to Durham NH to play New Hampshire. A little more battle tested? Maybe. A little worn down? Maybe? We did play them extremely well in Miami last year, and if my memory serves me right we played a hell of two games against them two years ago. If there is one team I feel we can consistantly compete with, its Miami.
As for The Ohio State...they came into this season with loftly expectations after, I think, overacheiving last season. tOSU has lost to Western Ontario (ex) and got swept by Quinnipiac (who could have a huge year out in Atlantic Hockey). We traditionally do not preform well at Ohio State, but the lack of home ice support only helps NMU.

I have to disagree here (and with virtually all that bwk says on this message board). After all, the Spirit Phone is up for grabs, I'm coming to Marquette to cheer on the Mav's, and it's our last season together.
UNO goes out with a Bang, Boom, Bada-Bing and returns the trophy to Omaha...

This makes me sad. I never made the trip to Omaha, but I always enjoyed the series in Marquette.
