So, any idea of who would get who next weekend? OSU/Miami goes to a third game. The Redhawks could lose that game and still make the tournement easily. Just going on the whole, they gotta have Michigan there at the Frozen Four conspiracy, would the CCHA powers that be have Michigan-OSU meet up in the semifinal game with the winner getting FSU-NMU the next day? Or would they be crazy enough to screw both of the smaller schools in order to get Michigan-OSU for the Championship??

The CCHA re-seeds, so it all depends on the MIami/Ohio State game Sunday night. Ferris is 1 if Miami loses, #2 if Miami wins, then NMU, u of m, with OSU being #4 if they win. 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3. My understanding is that who ever plays u of m gets the late game due to TV (or it could be who ever palys OSU, as the game is on the big ten network).

We'll just have to wait and see for tomorrow's drama to play out.

He's the biggest bandwagoner ever now?

Yeah, I thought so too.

Since this and a few other knuckleheaded comments were directed towards me, I'll respond and ask you a question.

What is a bandwagoner?

I thought it was someone who only paid attention to a team when they are playing good and then acts like they've been a fan since before it was cool.

I've been a Lions fan all my life(so I'm definitely not a bandwagoner in any sense) and a Wildcat fan since 1995 (when you were probably in 3rd grade). I've seen extreme highs and lows with this team, yet every weekend I still tune in to hear Dave paint the picture. I'm not going to apologize for being vocal and boisterous when the team plays well or falls on it's face. That's part of being a fan EDITED. This is the last time I'm going to comment on this because it's quite frankly been drawn out long enough. I am looking forward to reading the ever so witty comments that you and some of the other yahoo's respond with tomorrow.

GO WILDCATS!!!!

I for one am glad to see that those days are behind NMU.

Are you trying to refute that the last decade of NMU hockey has been filled with mediocrity and disappointment?

Next.

Woohoo!!! Nice win by the 'Cats. One game at a time.

Billy, I think everyone is piling on digging up your old posts in an effort to get you to eat crow...

Here is what I have been able to piece together regarding the CCHA tourney. The start times of the semi-finals are at the commissioners discretion, according to the CCHA website. Being that the second game, starting at 8 pm is on the Big 10 Network, I think it is safe to assume that Michigan will play the late game. Since there is no scenario where Michigan can play Ferris, the Bulldogs will be in the 4:30 game on Fox Sports Net Detroit. If Miami beats Ohio State, they'll play Michigan, while NMU would play the early game against Ferris. If Ohio State beats Miami, they would play Ferris and NMU would get Michigan in the prime time game.

That will be interesting to find out, as I was under the assumption that the 1 seed always got the early game, to give them more rest. That makes no sense attendance-wise, but that is I have in my head.

The league website says it up to the commish.

note the # in the upper right and it's explanation in the lower left.

Although the top seed has played the early game four of the past five years, top seeded UM played NMU in the late game in 2008. In that time, there has never been a late game that didn't include UM or MSU and two of the five have had both. The only time that UM wasn't in the later contest was in 2005, when they played Notre Dame early and State played OSU late. The early games that featured a top seed were NMU/ Notre Dame last year with UM and ALaska late, 2007 with Notre Dame and LSSU early and UM/MSU late, 2006 with MIami and NMU early and UM and MSU late and 2005 with UM and Alaska early and MSU/OSU late.

I had been on that page and seen that note. I also went back all the way to 2005 to see the matchups. The only part I didn't do (which you noted) was to check what the seeds were. If I had, I would have seen that UM was the 1 seed in 2008 and played the late game.

Well, I NEVER post here, but...I can say I'm pumped for this season. As my last season here at Northern ever, this is their best chance to make it farther than 3rd place in the CCHA and then to call it done. Good luck, 'Cats...I'll see ya down there this Friday!

1-0 Redhawks after 2. I think NMU needs Miami to go to the Joe and take on Michigan. I like our chances against Ferris at the Joe than against Michigan, Anastos-conspiracy theories not withstanding.

So it would seem. I'm sure the CCHA will have it official within the hour.
