Apply for DIII status, the gophers could be competitive against St. John's, etc.

I'm here to help.

Would you give yourself the keys? Yeah... didn't think so. :p ;)

I didn't say Jup made a bad decision! :)

Yeah.... I had zero internet while on vacation, which was a good thing actually. Unfortunately the server needed to be restarted and even if I gave you more access to the board it would not have helped. You needed server access, which is a totally separate thing than being the message board admin. So it's a completely different ball game.

So I am not familiar with all the USCHO forum protocol. After what date can I expect to see a "tubes" thread started? If they get swept by the CCHA, will that be enough? After all, there are essentially 2 "Fire Lucia" threads already.

And since I am lazy and haven't gotten an answer elsewhere, is the MICh game on FSN on Friday and the MSU one not televised?

Which is even a better decision by you!
I blamed goalphers for the whole thing. ;)

Correct.
The MSU game is also not on the radio, it is on static (AM1570) so if one happens to live across the street from the transmitter and adjust the tin foil hat ;) correctly one could possibly listen to the game - at least until the sun sets.

Hey, could somebody quick list all the guys you have that have commited and are scheduled to play next year? I met a woman last night who's son is supposed to play for the U next year and I forgot his name.

Heisenberg's list is probably the best source.

Christian Isackson, that was it. For some reason I kept thinking it was Erickson, and that just didn't seem right.

Jockstock/Harley's first appearance since the "outing"?

Ah...no.:D Sorry to disappoint you Brian, I'm not that schizophrenic.:D Once again, I am not in any way, shape or form associated with Jockstock/Tyler Hirsch. I can verify that if you like. I inquired about it and have received further information that will provide further clarification to you or anyone else that may be interested. I basically signed up here for Gopher hockey talk...that's it. I am a research graduate student with no interest here but to engage in hockey talk and cheer the Gophers on.

Furthermore, based on the research I have conducted recently, I suspect Jockstock is Hirsch. I received a rep from UMass a couple weeks ago claiming that I was Jockstock (which is when I first began to understand what was going on). He also posted on a Badger/Gopher thread that Jockstock spelled Hirsch's name wrong and therefore could not possibly be Tyler Hirsch. My research indicates otherwise.

After looking through several of Jockstock's posts recently, my research indicates that he purposely attempted to conceal his identity in several ways during the first few months of his postings. However, he also left numerous clues at the bottom of some of his early postings such as: #23, ECHL, and "Hershey's Chocolate". He also refers to Lucia as "Coach Lucia", claimed he got in "disagreements with Coach Lucia" and describes details of practices and offensive systems it seems only players would know. He also claimed that he had lots of "memories" and friends connected with the team and called some them by their first names. Noteworthy is the fact that he seems to take the dismissal of Hirsch very personally in several of his posts which I noticed during my review was also recognized by other posters. I thought it was interesting as well that he responded to UMass's post with "turn me on deadman, turn me on deadman". I researched that phrase and found that it was a reverse masking clue used by the Beatles on the song Revolution #9 during the hoax that Paul McCartney was dead.

Moreover, I happened to be online, after just registering on USCHO over a year and a half ago, when the suggestion was made that Jockstock could be Tyler Hirsch. As I stated then, my brother and I saw him play at a SSM event in Faribault. My brother spoke to him for a while and found out that he is a frequent blogger. My brother seems to recall him mentioning USCHO as well.

Looks like Harley might need a more challenging graduate school. Nice synthesis of your avocational research paper - "I'm not Tyler - my name is Harley" :)

HMC- could you investigate whether Happy is that scowling white headed geezer who sits in the opposing teams penalty box in games at the Mariucci? Somehow that just seems to work for me. The only thing different is that I always picture him with a gopher players sweaty jock over his head.:D

Apparently GPL is down while Jup upgrades the site.

I hate being stuck at work this late... I thought consulting/engineering was supposed to end these ****ty hours.

Fourth straight loss and fourth shutout this year. This is a new record for Lucia's teams. They have never been shutout 4 times in a season. I'm afraid for all practical purposes this team has self destructed. If they continue this pace this will be the worst performing Gopher team in a long time. The crap has hit the fan.

I have to wonder how many of the players have basically "checked out". This phenomenon typically occurs on teams with upper classmen that see the end of their careers coming and they begin to hate 1) the grind of hockey, 2) their coaches and 3) even some of their team mates.

I have a relative who played college hockey and in the past couple of years this has occured on his teams. It is a helpless feeling he told me.

Every team has these types of players. I just never thought I would see it on a team full kids whose careers really should not be nearing their ends...

Excellent point and something I hadn't thought about. That angle makes a lot of sense right now. This is about as low as it has gotten so far for Lucia teams and with the frustration level quite high other factors like you mentioned loom large on the scene.

When announcing the arrival of the team instead of announcing here are your golden gophers maybe the Mariucci arena anouncer should simply say "The crap has hit the ice." :p
