Surprising that Assabet is not involved! Where they invited and declined or not asked at all?

I would imagine that the Shamrocks got the invite because their team is available, where the majority, if not all, of the Assabet girls are in Preps and would be unavailable.

I'm surprised they could pull this together. The league has been in disarray for the past few years. No focus on the girls’ side of the house at all with declining attendance from scouts. This is what the league needed.

■UNH Gets Two Years' Probation For Recruiting Violations
(July 23, 2009) — The NCAA has placed New Hampshire's men's hockey team on two years' probation as part of a punishment for major recruiting violations. The national association reported that a New Hampshire associate head coach sent 923 impermissible e-mail messages to 30 prospective ...

This happened during one of the U18 boys tourneys hosted by UNH and obviously well scouted...LOL.

The news is only a month old....that's way too quick to brush it off as old stuff. Maybe they haven't owned up to it yet on their own website...probably because who advertises their own shortcomings anyway?

Here's the USCHO front page link to the story that ran on this web site:

You needn't worry, as Coach McCloskey and his staff are old school, eschewing the techno trappings of the new millennium for more traditional means of communication, such as semaphores, smoke signals, and face to face contact. All within the rules set forth by the NCAA.

"The national association reported that a New Hampshire associate head coach sent 923 impermissible e-mail messages to 30 prospective student-athletes during the 2007-08 season.

The associate head coach, who was not named in the NCAA’s report, said he misinterpreted how data needed to be entered into recruiting software that sends e-mail messages to multiple recipients.

That, according to the report, led to 30 recruits getting e-mails from UNH before June 15 after the end of their freshman or sophomore years in high school.

The New Hampshire Union Leader reported that the associate head coach was Scott Borek.

“It was an honest mistake,” New Hampshire coach Dick Umile told the newspaper. “Probation means we can’t make another mistake. We self-reported when we realized a mistake had been made with the scouting software. Hopefully this sort of thing will not happen again.”

So, what's your point, and how does it pertain to Tier 1 Elite 19U girl's hockey? The news was all over the papers and tv for the first week the story broke. Since then, Michael Jackson, Ethel Kennedy, and Ted Kennedy have died, and UNH launched a new website. Mistake made, lesson learned, and yeah - old news.

DC---loosen up! Find the humor in the situation. Hux did. Here's my original post...

It was light-hearted toungue-in-cheek humor. Buzz had no idea what it referred to....hence the follow-up post, and NoGo implying that the story broke in 2007-2008, so the other follow-up.

And now for one more try at bad humor...if Michael Jackson's death is old news as well....then, why isn't he buried already?

On a serious note though, when I think of Ted Kennedy, I can't help but think of Mary Jo Kopecny.
