Good for you e.cat for starting this! UNH hits the Alfond with a 6-1-1 record in their last 8 games....Maine kills BC the other night...only 1 pt. separates them from each other in HE points...hoping for a classic coz HR is making the trek and expects an epic game! As a gesture of good faith, I have 2 additional tickets given to me by a fan who can't make it...up for grabs if anyone (it's ok if it's a Maine fan....:D ) wants them! The big q is: which team is gonna show up? Go 'Cats!!!!

Wish I could take you up on the tix but I have to work my retirement job tomorrow!! I'll be checking in often tho online.

Alfond always a tough place to play and these two teams seem to be evenly matched. Advantage Maine on this one but we'll see!

Have fun!

Maine lost two games at home to NU before defeating BC at Conte Forum. I expect this to be a close game and I think Maine has the edge. Perhaps a tie or Maine wins in OT. However, with Maine you never know which team will show up.

Wow, a game thread. Let the flame wars begin! :-)

Will this game be the Black Bears first look at an UNH goal tender other than Danny Tirone in the past four years?

If Tirone were in goal, Maine loses.;)

Could be a big 2 points down the road for either team, UNH playing well and Maine in a usual up/down and like many others: wonder what team shows up for Maine...use to be Alfond Arena was the Ace in the hole...but no more. Maine keys imo, Swayman best player on the ice, the dreaded stay out of the box and finally will the whole team buy into team defense/ blocking shots and making the passing lanes hard as heck. Hopefully Maine is looking only in tomorrows game and not the next tough upcoming series versus UMass this weekend.

It's gonna take some doing to get this match-up back to its previous relevancy.

Relevant might be relative! This game is relevant in terms of the Hockey East tournament.

And, the teams play one another three times during the regular season, with the Black Bears visiting the Whitt for two the first weekend of February (Friday night on NESN+, Saturday game on NESN, so someone thinks that these two teams are relevant). .
