This will be UAH's 33nd season of varsity hockey and 39th overall. This is the 25th season in Division I (20th since rejoining in 1998), and the fifth in the WCHA.

Last season, the Chargers were 9-22-3 overall and 9-16-3 in the WCHA. UAH had its best conference record since joining the WCHA, but it was only good enough for 9th place and out of the playoffs.
