Ann-Renee Desbiens started for Wisconsin, and (maybe needless to say, given the score) she looked A-OK.

No hesitation to drop into her butterfly, no awkwardness getting back up, no 'favoring' one side or the other in getting up. A couple kick saves while down in the butterfly with the injured left leg (I didn't notice any with the right, which might have put some unwanted pressure on the left knee.) If you din't know she had been injured, there was nothing that I saw that would have tipped you off that something had been wrong with her.

Great news for Badger fans! Less so for others :-)

(The rest of the team looked pretty good, too.)

Wisconsin has sold out the Kohl Center for tonight's St. Cloud match-up. That's 15,359 tickets sold for 1 game. That's more than every D1 school's total attendance for last year other than UW, UM, UMD and UND in one game. On Wisconsin!

Any weekend series after Tuesday's Frozen Fenway was going to be extra tough for this Harvard team and after last night's loss to RPI you could almost see this one coming: Union is now 1-26-0 against the Crimson.

Good for Union ending another long, dreadful streak. Prior to this, their last ECAC win was over Brown on 12/6/2014, a span of 49 games.

Syracuse over Penn State 4-1, extending Penn State's current winless streak to 0-9-2. No sign of senior captain Laura Bowman in this series, and of course no word of it from Penn State, so I hope she isn't injured.

Very nice win Union!!! All of Harvard's Players are deleted from USA Hockey's database and will not be considered for anymore USA National Teams! They should have never been anyways. Their Coach too. Harvard's Thread is titled "Restoring the Karma Part II".... um I think your karma is bad bad bad.

I have to believe that Harvard will bounce off the mat, to some degree, and Skate79 will reappear alive and well. However, they clearly punched above their weight last year on the basis of strong goaltending, Sydney Daniels, and not much else. I have only seen them once this year...Friday's game against RPI. It was amazing to see how easily RPI was able to come out of their own end....so little forechecking effort on the part of the Crimson. Not the best game for the Engineers but after watching that I was predicting that Union would win on Saturday.
