One oddity on the schedule... it shows a home game on Tuesday 10/25 against UMass with a 4:00 start. Can that be right? Seems like an early start for a mid-week game.

Great to see UConn coming to Hamden. Unfortunately I'm away that week

I think the UCONN game was a late add to the schedule as my early draft of it didn't have us playing them. My draft was just missing dates for the Maine and Princeton games. I think we were a game short and this now brings us to a full schedule.

I also have not heard anything additional regarding Cannon Pieper transferring to Maine. I wonder if that is still happening.

2016 USA Hockey Select 17 Player Development Camp Rankings

                  Forwards

                  35. Matt Cassidy, Gray 17, Left Shot, 5'11"/175, Medford, NJ, Green Bay Gamblers (Quinnipiac) -€” He was a little streaky here, but he had some good moments. He scored a nice goal Sunday, going top shelf with a quick wrister. He has good instincts and thinks the game well. He made a nice chip up the left wing boards to Craig Needham. His assist in Monday's game came off a nice play from below the goal line.

                  50. Matt Fawcett, Kelly #16, Left Shot, 5'5"/136, Lincoln, RI, Winchendon Prep School (Quinnipiac) -€” He's quick and crafty. He makes things happen in the offensive zone. His lone goal here was a high shot from in tight after a nice stickhandling move.

                  Goaltenders

                  1. Keith Petruzzelli, Kelly #1, Catches Left, 6'6"/180, Wilbraham, Mass., Muskegon Lumberjacks (Quinnipiac) -€” He's a big goalie who covers a ton of net. He has good post-to-post movement and is graceful in the crease for such a big guy. He's smooth and makes saves look easy. The knock against him has sometimes been his propensity for giving up soft goals, but he was focused and good here.

He is much bigger than Garteig and probably alot more talented than Garteig was at the same age. I think with the soft goals is that he has always been on a team that has played from ahead and can always score goals at both Springfield Cathedral and Selects Academy U16. These are two really good programs that put out a ton of talent. These soft goals are coming likely with huge leads not in crunch time.

He has done a SOLID job with the QU program, with that said here's a couple questions: 1. Do you think that QU will try to get into Hockey East in the near future? (IMO would be a great add for Hockey East.) 2. Rumor @ the Frozen 4 had Canon Pieper transferring to Maine, is he staying @ QU?

Someday maybe... for now I think they're content to stay in the ECAC where, for now, they're the big fish in a small pond. The administration loves rubbing shoulders with the Ivies and the school is becoming a better fit academically as evidenced by leading the league in all-academic selections.

Rumor @ the Frozen 4 had Canon Pieper transferring to Maine, is he staying @ QU?
That seems to be the $64000 question. I haven't heard anything to substantiate the rumor on way or the other.
