Although I respect opposing opinions on this thread I still believe maintaining and growing the QU/Yale rivalry is of paramount importance. The bottom line is that it is an honor to compete with Yale in meaningful hockey games (and other sports).

It does not matter if Allain does not want to admit it is a rivalry or even say the name "Quinnipiac" for whatever reason (e.g., he thinks we are inferior, he has nothing to gain, etc). The only thing that matters is that there is an amazing hockey rivalry between QU and Yale and everyone knows about it. It is an honor to become part of Yale's storied history and culture. Our association with the Ivys has advanced our academic standing and will continue to do so until we are the second best university in Connecticut.

I'm pretty sure you're never overtaking Wesleyan, but you may actually already be sixth. Yale, Wesleyan, Trinity, Sacred Heart, UConn, Q, and... um... I can't think of another university in CT. Come to think of it, Trinity's probably a college, so you're fifth.

I'm pretty sure you're never overtaking Wesleyan, but you may actually already be sixth. Yale, Wesleyan, Trinity, Sacred Heart, UConn, Q, and... um... I can't think of another university in CT. Come to think of it, Trinity's probably a college, so you're fifth.

When BU was in America East they played Hartford and BU field hockey hosted Fairfield last fall in the NCAA Tournament. I knew there was a CCSU as a cousin went to it, but I didn't realize there were three others.

Why? How would building a rivalry with Yale help us? What we need to do (and have done) is build a solid hockey program that can compete with the best in the country on a consistent basis. The rush everyone gets from Yale/QU is palpable, but it's certainly not the be all, end all of our existence. There's plenty of other fish in the pond.

All this talk about HE and Yale... what about tomorrow and RIT? There is no way we can look past RIT. They boys need to continue the quest and bring everything they have to the table. The seniors remember '13 and Canisius. And Yale. They have something to prove and the tools to do it.

The biggest question is Anas. I believe we will see him. I truly don't think he had a shoulder or collarbone injury. After watching the replay of him at the bench immediately after the hit, my gut feeling is maybe ribs. It sure looked to me like he had the wind knocked out of him.

Garteig needs to play the games of his career from here on out. Nothing soft, steal a bunch, stone a few. Toews and Co need to be solid in front, limiting chances and clearing pucks. Offense (with or without Sammy) need to keep doing what they've been doing all season.

Amazing to me that Esposito was not suspended. Perhaps if the next game wasn't an NCAA tourney game against a non-ECAC foe

Hope Anas can play. Tournament is better when guys like him are on display.

I imagine Rand will go with the T. Clifton line against the J. Mitchell line all day. Obviously hoping Sam is in, but we've been praising the depth of this team all year. If we play our game, good things will happen.

I don't chime in here much anymore but god this is a dumb take. Building an entire program around a one-sided rivalry is as dumb an idea as it gets. Associating academically with the ivies is the only valid part of that argument.
