The Blues have been there, done this before. Unless/until they win a 4th game over CBH, I'm gonna default to the State of Missouri motto and demand the Blues "show me" they've got what it takes to knock out the defending Cup champs. Ditto for San Jose over the LA Kings.

TvR and CBH live to see another day; TvR 29:11 mins (of 80+ mins), with +1, 1 hit, 3 blocked shots, 0 SOG. DWR out, and Rangers also hanging from a thread, as two of original six remain.

I went to bed at the end of regulation, hoping that they would pull it off! Glad to see they live another day. DWR, not so much...Chuck was right; they are out before the banquet...

Watching hockey...you?

Total puff piece, but nevertheless in all likelihood a strong signal from the corner office that there'll be no change to the status quo any sooner than has been currently planned for. Take it for what it's worth, I guess.

DRW hitting the links this weekend as predicted, with the Flyers and Rangers looking like the next ones to be checking out. CBH showing championship mettle with the 2OT road win to force a Game 6. Still asking the Blues to "show me" ... rooting for them, but I've seen this movie before, and last night may have been their best chance to knock off the champs. Now I'm waiting to see if the San Jose thing is for real, or just their own latest mirage.

Anaheim has bounced back with two road wins, and I like them to advance. I think the Cup stays in the West again, but Washington and Pittsburgh look to be the two toughest teams in the East right now. They are headed on a collision course in the next round. TB was not particularly impressive in getting by DRW, but they should get past the winner of the Florida-NYI series in the next round regardless. I'll predict Washington ekes past Pittsburgh, and even if Stamkos is back for TB in the semis, I like the Caps to make it to the Finals.

I think everyone else is rooting for St. Louis to get Chicago out, 'cuz if CBH manages to advance, they may just run the rest of the table (again). And if SJ doesn't knock out the Kings in this round, I have a sneaky suspicion Anaheim will knock them out in the next round.

If CBH beats St. Louis tomorrow night, no way the Blues will beat them in a Game 7 - home, away or on Mars. And if CBH get into the next round, I think they WILL run the table (Dallas won't know what hit them, and they're better/more experienced than Anaheim and Washington). So I think you can say the Cup might be on the line tomorrow night at the United Center.

Just passing the time until we can sort through the tea leaves after this weekend's UNH Hockey banquet. :)

I loved the summation

The team is coming off its worst season under Umile’s reign, finishing with an 11-20-6 overall record, but he has already turned his attention to next season.
“Hopefully we can get bigger, stronger and quicker,” he said. “We don’t have a season like that too often, and we’re all anxious to turn that around next season.”

Its probably just the standard line, but coming from Umile and the recent confirmation about how little he is involved in recruiting, there is something funny to his "Hopefully we can get bigger, stronger and quicker" line, as if he can't know the likely skill of the lineup until random kids show up next September.;) Add in the "we don't have seasons like that too often" (as if UNH will always be successful, regardless of talent), and there is a wonderful mindset that all that needs to happen is for some unnamed thing to be better. Just a matter of will, or luck, or effort, or something.

Will be interesting to see any tea leaves from the banquet tomorrow.

I think that this year's banquet will be anti-climactic after last year's, and make getting to 1000 posts on this thread a challenge.

At least one of the out-of-conference games next season will be against Colorado College (http://cctigers.com/documents/2016/4/13//2016_17_Schedule.pdf?id=5379), but no game at Denver (http://www.denverpioneers.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/041316aaa.html).

Saw that and it's in a Saturday which makes me think we will be playing somebody else out there doubt we'd go out for one game. Bet it's Air Force on the Friday night? I know the schedule is out (no I don't have it) so of course am speculating!!

Air Force apparently still free to host UNH on that Friday night.

They must be using a fish net to gather up all these bottom dwellers for the OOC. If the bar gets any lower it will be underground.

True 'dat for CC (6-29-1, tied for 52nd with 8 PWR points, but 3rd in SOS), vs Air Force (20-12-5, tied for 28th with Union and Ferris and 31 PWR points, and UNH? (11-20-6, 39th with 21 PWR points). Maybe we can pick up 2 points against CC, but will need to be lucky to pick up a point against Air Force, who ain't AIC and was second in the AHC last regular season.

So this is what's become of UNH ... "lucky to pick up a point" against mighty Air Force *gulp*. Sad ...

I thought that I read somewhere that UNH was traveling to Arizona State for a game. If they're playing CC, wouldn't make sense to schedule those two games on the same weekend? I can't see UNH making two road trips out West in the same season.

In any event....it adds more "softness" to the schedule. :p

You are prob. right about that Scott...that's what I was thinking; why go out there for one game? I imagine those in the 'know' about the schedule have the answer.... :)

Yup, AZ State makes more sense, as UNH needs points, and Air Force is too high in the PWR.

So I guess we are not going to CC (they are coming here)..and heard there will be 19 home and 15 away...Plus a trip to MSG..

Very interesting; so, maybe two games at AZ State? But, three of the 34 games at neutral sites (MSG, Manchvegas, and Portland)?

Is the game against Macintosh College home or away?
