The power forward Anthony Québecois John Greer, who played at the University of Boston will finish the season with the Rouyn -Noranda Huskies .

11th round choice of the Huskies in 2013 , Greer , 19 measures and weighs 204 lbs 6'03`` . He was selected in the second round ( 39E ) by the Colorado Avalanche draft pick in 2015 .

Greer will have Rouyn-Noranda by the end of the week. It is too early to know whether it will be in uniform face the Foreurs

Hearing initial reports BU is planning to bring in another forward for the second half of the season and Roberto might not play this season.

Interesting. With the way BU has been recruiting you have to think this is going to happen a lot more frequently.

Worth wondering if he, not having put up the stats that were projected of him and seeing the amount of offensive talent coming next season, assumed he'd be relegated to the third line for the remainder of his career here.

not sure of the correlation there.

just a wag, but prolly has to do with confidence. AJ came in as a borderline 1st rounder and hasn't shown much of anything. maybe he goes and plays against 17yo babies and the points will come.

I suspect Nick was referring to the situation I speculated below. Loads of offensive coming in the fall, stats not been there for him so far, foresaw himself as being overshadowed by them, wanted to boost his stock putting up #s against a bunch of teenagers.

Multiple sources saying BU's Ahti Oksanen out for the year. One source did say team will reevaluate him after break.

Wondering what happened there. I talked to Bernie Corbett as I was leaving QPac on Saturday and he told me it was a dislocated shoulder and was popped back in. I wonder if they didn't get the chance to fully evaluate him there after the hit? That stinks - it's his senior year!

Who knows, probably was reevaluated, possibly saw a doctor and they discovered something else.

They did...just heard. torn labrum. Greeeeeeeeeeat.

I think Nick somehow usurped my #OppositeGirl powers with his comment about he sees BU as a serious threat later in the season. Thanks Nick.

So ... that was a pretty quick and decisive end to this season. Wow. I find it tough to have a lot of respect for Greer or, before him, Coyle, for not only leaving mid-season, but also going to a league where they can put up more points because their opponents are younger.

Also, there is something up with Roberto. No one who played every game for two seasons gets benched for off-ice conduct for a year. If his violation of team rules was bad enough for a year-long suspension, he either would have left for another league or transferred to another NCAA school, or Quinn would have kicked him off the team. I am just not buying that something could have been so serious that a year-long suspension is appropriate but not serious enough for him to be dismissed. It wouldn't surprise me if he was benched for the first game or two and then suffered a concussion in practice before getting a chance to play in his first game.

As for Ahti ... ouch. I really enjoyed watching him play. Had a pretty nice career here. Definitely has an NHL-ready shot but the rest of his game will probably relegate him to being a pretty good AHL player.

FWIW, new reports have emerged that there has been no decision by AJ and that BU "does not expect AJ Greer to leave school." Whatever that all means. Also, I've heard Roberto's troubles may have something to do with academics, but I have no idea on the validity. Timeline would make sense, if he was on probation for the fall semester with his future status determined by how well he did in school this semester. Also, another report on Ahti said no determination has been made either way on when or if he'll return. Whole lot of gray area today.

Okay, well that doesn't sound as bad as the previous posts. Maybe Greer is considering sticking around if Oksanen is or might be out for the year. Though what kind of reception will that get in the locker room? "Hey teammates, I was leaving you guys mid-season but now that our best goal scorer is out, I am willing to stick around." May not go over so well. That would make sense re: Roberto, if it is true. However, I am not sure that it is.

We need one of the pretend journalists over at the DFP to get Greer to decisively state he is staying like they did with Coyle before we should all breathe a sigh of relief!
