TJ Koufis has just committed to Wisconsin for 2020-21. Good grief... I'm going to have to redesign the spreadsheet.

Seems a little risky, reminds me of McGuire who committed as a 15 yr old and never really blossomed prior to or during his career @ UW (so far).

What are the odds that all three coaches are still there by the time he gets to Madison?

And if he went to UND and became the next huge star you would say......How on earth did UW let him slip away to UND?!?!?!?!?

The spreadsheet has been updated with both new commitments (along with links to their Elite Prospects pages for each of the new players.) I'll work on linking others as time permits as well.

If he committed this early to the Sue I would not be bitter if he ended up being a superstar just because of the risk involved. I think G2O can wait on players because they have the recruiting power to draw a player into the fold later in the battle. I don't think they need to beat other teams to players like an under-dog program needs to. Of course all these commitments are non-binding, so who really knows....

If enough of the young guys pan out to be superstars, your tone may change. Welcome to what it's like to recruit for the two big hockey schools one and two states over.

You could be correct. Like I said, the commitments are non-binding so the young lads have 2-4 years to resist the overtures of other schools. One must also take into account the last 2 studs that took UW to the promised land were unheralded Pavelski and Elliott, so you never do know.

UND's track record with young recruits in recent years is actually pretty horrendous.

When you are referring to "young", what are you talking about? 14 and 15 year olds, or 16-18 year olds? And when you say horrendous, are you talking about their track record in getting them onto the roster, track record with respect to the quality of player they turned out to be, or both?

What have they had in the last 7-8 years, maybe half a dozen kids who committed when they were 15 or younger? I think Wilkie and Thompson committed pretty young, but both made it to campus. I think Evers is expected in next year as a 20 year old.

I think there was a Pelnik kid who committed real early and didn't make it in, and Luke Voltin, but I'm having a hard time recalling numbers that would cause someone to say it's been "horrendous".

That's nothin'. MCR JR's "unconceived" son has committed to UW hockey. Date TBD.

Confirmed via Posick on twitter. 6-1 185 and he's under 17? G2O are spoiling us. I hope this T Granato dude can coach...:)

That didn't take long to reestablish UW as Dman U. Probably a year or two of growing pains on the back end (Greenway and Nyberg are talented...but will be green w/o a ton of talent already in place). Since G2O....we've landed Gildon (a projected 1st rounder) (I know technically that was with Eaves at the helm....but I'm pretty confident that at that moment in time, people that needed to know what was about to happen knew), Greenway (4th rounder), Nyberg (5th rounder), K' Andre Miller, Ess, and now Emberson. Add in previously committed Brady Smith & Inamoto and the dman pipeline got filthy in the span of half a year.

It's almost not even fair to the rest of college hockey.
