Bump, just in case anyone missed this run of Willows in his pro debut.

The announcer was so surprised this goal went in...but hey, a goal is a goal! He and Unions Daniel Ciampini are doing very well in their rookie debuts! BTW if you do play the vid do it twice; it loads up weird...need lessons from the pro C-H-C!!!

FWIW dept: pulling for Zane McIntyre for the Hobey...

Poor TvR can't catch a break...he hurt his wrist in a recent game, surgery Tuesday, out for 8 weeks...tough first year for him!

At least TVR got paid for his injuries this year. I am sure that Brett Pesce was paying attention to TVR's injuries, both during his last year at UNH and his first year as a pro.

And, speaking of UNH alums, Chara sent Trevor Smith to locker room with blood streaming from his head early in the Bs last game at the Garden for this season. JvR's line with Kessel and Bozak has the worst +/- in the NHL.

EDIT: JvR ties up game 1-1 with his 26th goal of season.

When do we find out who next year's captains will be? And whether or not all of Coach Umile's staff will be returning for next season?

It's going to be a looooooooong six months before we get the season started again.

And, why no inklings yet about OOC games for next season, other than Dartmouth, of course?

Saw Clarkson mentioned on the schedules thread, but that's all so far.

Unrelated subject, but is Blasi or Hakstol the new Umile?

So, how many FFs without a NC does each have?

Maybe St Lawrence also, as they are travel partners with Clarkson.

Also unrelated, Downing recorded 2 SOG in his first game with the Iowa Wild.

I believe Blasi has just 2 Frozen Fours in 10 trips to the NCAA Tournament (16 seasons).

Hakstol has 7 Frozen Four appearances in 11 trips to the NCAA Tournament (11 seasons). He is 1-6 thus far at the Frozen Four (lost his last 6 games).

Thanks, FS. So Hakstol was at the helm in 2000, but not 1997? In any case, hard to be comparing UNH and North Dakota (10 FFs the last 19 years; only BC has more with 11 in that time, I think), and their respective coaches.

Hakstol was not at the helm in 2000. Umile has twice as many FF wins as Hakstol does.

That said, I think Blasi is the more apt comparison

No. Hakstol has been at the helm since 2004-2005. He has been to the NCAA Tournament every season, and will make his 7th appearance at the Frozen Four on Thursday (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015). He has an overall record of 1-6 at the Frozen Four. He has yet to win a national title.

FWIW, Umile beat Hakstol in their only NCAA Tournament meeting in 2009 (the infamous game where UNH scored with less than a second to knot it up, and then the Wildcats won in OT).
