UMass Amherst defeated Merrimack 4-1 today. The Minutemen took 3 out of 4 points from the Warriors this weekend.

Merrimack seems that be on a slide of its own, may make for an interesting weekend.

On a side note, it's pretty cool that UML gets the chatter it does on this board. I read it myself for a couple years before deciding join the action this year. It can be a tough crowd, but is fun, and I recommend any other wallflowers to come join the banter.

Merrimack is scheduled to play at UConn Tuesday night. That's looking doubtful now.

HE has officially postponed that game.

With the way Lowell is playing, and with the schedule they have coming up, they'll be lucky to get a top 4 spot in HE this year and will be struggling mightly to make the NCAAs. You had to assume that the team would fall back to earth with the inexperience in age and playing experience in net. If Lowell is still able to hit 20 wins, which I think they can, is anyone really going to say this season is a disappointment? They played above expectations for a good part of the season.

Just noticed the AHL all star game is on NESN right now. Hellebuyck is starting in net.

It's was a rough weekend, but lets keep our chins up. Finishing the season with 10-12 points isn't a stretch and that should be enough to get us a first round bye and a trip to the NCAAs. Boyle's gonna be ok and the team has great leadership on and off the ice. Consider the last few as a wakeup call and trust in Norm to get things fixed. They'll lose a few but there won't be any sub-par efforts like we saw against UConn or PC. It's gut check time and we have the character. 3 points this weekend!

Looking at the wins the team has this season, there aren't many that stand out. They're beating the teams that they should be beating, and the wins against BC, QU, and MC can probably be considered good wins, but name another win that could be a quality win? I think Lowell can still get a first round bye and if things fall their way, make the NCAAs, but they're going to need to really step up their game. It first starts with Kapla, Kamrass, and Suter. These three have been mostly invisible for long stretches of the season. If they can start playing like they are capable of doing, Lowell will have a chance.

For the folks heading to Merrimack tomorrow night. Parking Notification For Merrimack-Lowell Friday.

Because of the volume of snow that has fallen on Merrimack’s campus during this week’s blizzard, parking will be limited for Friday night’s Merrimack hockey game against UMass Lowell at 7 p.m.
The game is also being broadcasted on WBIN TV and Fox College Sports (Pacific).

Either they figure out how to fix the PK or the season is already over. In the last five games (1-4) Lowell has allowed 9 PPG on 21 attempts. Take away the shut out at Maine and they're 9 for 18 in their last four losses. They're not going to beat anyone if this continues. It's been bad most of the season, but right now it's embarrassing. The coaches haven't figured it out yet, I don't see where we would find the confidence to suggest they're going to figure it out with nine games to play.

According to some, the reason UMass has been so bad is the failure of their AD. Well, he's leaving the school ... will be interesting to see if this changes things for them.

I wish he'd take Skinner with him.
