Condolences, in particular, to Matt Carle. In addition to playing on the defeated squad in the Stanley Cup finals, Matt had the dubious distinction of finishing with a minus ten [-10] figure in the plus/minus category. Three hundred thirty nine [339] players--excluding goalies--appeared in at least one Stanley Cup playoff game this spring. None finished with a lower plus/minus figure than Matt. That is probably "technically" correct: HE didn't have contact. We know, and at least three other coaches know, that his word and his promises are as good as Gold.
Seems to have a really short attention span to say the least. Egocentric?? Selfish?? Who is giving him advice and does he even listen?? (Can't recall any incoming transfers at DU.)
Can understand he holds Coach Monty in high regard, but if his goal is the NHL -- picking and choosing your coach is not part of the deal.
As an alum can certainly understand why he would want to go to DU
